Not sure if you can find this out specifically, but since you had this muc detailed information, do you know if there are any cameras in sight at this point? Maybe a camera on the traffic lights themselves?

Shocked

There is one near me!

There is one near me on this thing. I can tell you that there is absolutely NOTHING remarkable near the point in Longmont, CO. A library isn't too distant. Several places to eat.

Here are some ideas I have. The places marked could be places this he/she/it entity had been too and remembers only vaguely(it is having memory issues). A decent number of them are near scenic places such as the sears tower, Washinton monument, rocky mountains. Even the middle of the ocean could be considered scenic.

Someone also mentioned the possibility that they're coordinates in space. Someone should really check that one out. This IS Halo after all. That could be hard though. I know someone with a telescope who I think does stuff like that, but it's NOT the easiest thing in the world and I'm not about to ask him to do somthing like that for this.

It might also be possible that those are sites for potential covenant attacks or maybe flood outbreaks.

Wellthere are some Ideas for you.

Also about the camera theory, All Wal-Marts have cameras outside, as do most malls, targets, k-marts, etc.

and in the bigger/more populated areas, there would be more cameras on traffic signals, etc.

-70 E 74th St
-The Whitney Museum is at that point.

The most common application for GPS coordinates out in the middle of nowhere are geocaches. Perhaps clues can be found in geocaches at these sites?

I sorta checked out the space coordinate theory, but star coordinates and such are tracked with different coordinates, which include letters, not just numbers.

(OT: I really need to register, eh)

I believe you need 3 numbers for a cordinate in space

I was thinking the same thing. It's against what most people here are saying, but is there a chance the covenenant might attack these locations? They are populated, and some have monuments nearby, a great place to attack.

Maybe the AI is trying to shore up gaps in her memory?

I havn't found a thread *although i havn't searched in about an hour* on exactly how the AI in question obtained the gps coordinates.....any ideas?

There does not appear to be a geocache at either of the coordinates in Palo Alto Calfiornia.

plotted some data...

I plotted many many points on a globe, and i came up with some fFacts.

1) all points are in the continental U.S.
2) all points appearto be on dry land.
3) all points are located in or near a major metro area
4) more points are located in more desnely populated areas.
5) there does not seem to be a specific pattern, on a large scale, as to where the points lie. (fFor example, they do not seem to plot some connect-the-dots design)

the various extremities are as fFollows:

* NORTHMOST - Bellingham, a suburb of Seattle, Washington.
* SOUTHMOST - Downtown fFort Lauderdale, fFlorida.
* EASTERNMOST - Hyannis, near Martha's Vineyard, Massachusettes
* WESTERNMOST - Lincoln City, near Portland Oregon

All this suggests each point is either a more or less random location intended to suggest A Bunch Of Major Metro Areas, or else there is something really quite specific in each place.

What's also interesting to observe is where there are NOT points. While there about 7 points in the New York City area, there are absolutely None in the entire rest of the state. This suggests the points are not plotted based on fFactual location of masses of population, or physical location of, say, nuclear generators.

Billboards & Advertising

Just a hunch... but if there are actually people going to those locations, I think it might be a good idea to take note of any billboards or prominent advertising space in the area. It seems the majority of locations are in large population centers, or metro areas. If this game has advertising at its core...that might be something to look into when the 24th rolls around.

My theory, she already had them as a kind of map to pinpoint specific locations. In the future it is very unlikely that the land shapes will alter greatly, aswell as most cities probably only getting bigger, not being removed completely.

Of course thats only if you look at the coordinates as connected, if they are not connected ie All different thingds then my theory doesn't really work.
