Thoughts?

The tail is a stretch, but good thinking! What is the constellation that looks like a unicorn? Is it Pegasus?

BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY SPECULATION ABOUT A HALO 2 PROMOTION TOUR OR VIDEO GAME DEALER CHART, consider this:

Row 4, Column 1 gives the coordinates: 39.4958 -77.6531 you can find a map of those coordinates here... As you will see when you zoom in and enlarge the map, this is in the middle of what appears to be a field... It's not on any road or street, it's just there... The closest civilization is Boonsboro, which has a population of 2,790... Just to compare, I live in a small town in Mississippi, and small as it is, it has a population of 24,082...

Now why would Bungie plan a promotional stop on their Halo 2 tour in the bustling metropolis of Boonsboro, MD? Scratch that, OUTSIDE OF Boonsboro, MD? There are some here who I'm sure would entertain the thought that the Bungie execs sit back and throw darts at a map of the US to decide where to promote their games, or maybe that Bungie just had such devoted fans living in the woods 4 miles outside of Boonsboro that they had to plan a stop there, but the fact of the matter is that game promotion trips are strateigically planned for highly populated areas that will achieve a high impact on their game sales... Numerous factors are taken into account, like average age, income, video game sales, lack of PS2 owners (heh)... And I'm afraid Boonsboro wouldn't be on the A-list in any of these categories.

So take a step back, think logically, or if you refuse to do so, shut the hell up. We'll be glad to entertain your hypothesiis when they have at least some supporting evidence...

why don't you take your attitude down about 5billion notches

k, thx!!!

I think so, Im not to clued up on pegasus myself, I just know its a horse with wings Smile I dunno if they have a horn, like a unicorn or not though I think they do.

Personally, I think it could be a star constelation, as the AI talks about NEEDING to send a message out for help. How else would you send an inter-stellar message? Use the stars!

Nice constellation map!

I think I see...

...the Crusades?

Probably nothing, guys. Look at it this way: At least some of the points are incredibly close together - two in the Cleveland area (which I'm going to check out, probably tonight) are across the street from each other. On a map the size of the nation, these two points are nearly identical. Why bother going to the trouble of mapping two points on top of each other if it's only supposed to be viewed on a big-picture scale?

Let's see - could Freelance have been inspired to post because that's what every new development generates around here - wild spec on direct Halo game links? His was an entirely appropriate post.

Have you thought about making that huge-ass tail a human rider? I made a quick sketch to prove my point, and it looks like it works. Try it out (you have better artistic skills).

yeah, you're probably right... I was using terrafly, and it brought back strange results for that address. i just can't figure out what the building is I'm looking at (used white/yellow pages reverse lookup with no success).

I'm off to the San Rafael, CA location... it is at the end of a dead end road, camera in hand.

Has anyone tried plotting lines starting from the first point and so on? Not sure how to go about it in map point.

The problem is that x-y coordinates don't map to lat-long because of the curvature of the Earth (see attachment). Perhaps the puzzle solution does require us to map on a grid, not a map, but so far the GIS solution seems to be giving us consistent results, so I'm reluctant to abandon it.

[Spec]: This might be a trout, but I think that the Axon countdown has to do with when we are supposed to go to these locations. IMO, I think the PMs put up so many locations so that the maximum amount of players could go to these RL locations and get whatever clues might be there. I'm most likely wrong though

Well, they're going to need Predator camo. to sneak past the ARGers with their telescopes and cameras trained on the locations Smile

Maybe everyone should agree to stay away fromt he spots on monday night to give them a chance to set things up...

There should definitely be someone at the point on the day though.
