Crazy spec - no evidence and I'm a little adrenaline high (thinking about other Bee references at other sites that have been shrugged off)....

But... what if? each of these locations is, like this one, tied to a web site with a story... and really far fetched... what if the pages we find, like last time, contain embedded words that make up a story. Now it'd be much harder this time b/c we might find duplicate stories for the same event on different sites... but the PMs might have taken that into consideration and been choosy in their picking. Anyway - the puzzle may be basically the same as last time - just made harder by obscuring the links.

It would be even harder than that considering last time they were grouped in 7s, this time its just a pair. It is possible though, considering it is on the same page, and many of the other puzzles have remained somewhat similar from phase to phase.

i maintain that this is tied to the recipies page in some way. the only reason i say that is because the recipies are still unobscured by text, even after the metastasizing. if anyone's especially good with numbers and not as lazy as i am, have a look!

Yeah, floorneyne, me and handful noticed that buzy bee board up last night. We though it was an interesting coincidence but nothing more, since none of the other chicago sites seemed to have anything to do with bees. But now with the addition of that kmart story... these coincedences are gettin a little more farfetched.

Maybe we have to narrow down the coordinates to ones that have bee references?

Went to addison and wilton again today. The boarded up apt appeared to be due to a recent fire. I'll see if I can find any news articles about it.

So far all I can find is this - but it's from 2001 - they wouldn't keep a building boarded up for that long would they? Though people died and it appears to be arson... might be talking about a different building... feel free to ignore this. I'm drunk.

http://www.insideonline.com/site/epage/2648_162.htm

EDIT: yeah please ignore. I'm pretty damn sure that building was only tow MAYBE three stories. The article talks about someone jumping from the 4th floor.

EDIT EDIT: tow = two, bien sur. Bring me more booze.

Has anyone visited any other site that is even remotely connected to BEES?

TWO is a coincidence.

THREE is a pattern.

But we can't reliably find patterns until we have information on most of the coords.

Please help contribute, everyone. We've nailed a lot - I took down the four in Cleveland tonight - we just need keepers in other areas of the country to pitch in.

To say that something would happen on the 24th in these locations is ridiculous. Do you really think that there will be a demo? Do you really think that Halo 2 will ship early to arrive at 12:00am on the 24th to some random spot in the woods? I doubt it. The only thing that you'll find at any of those spots are probably Bungie employees hiding and laughing saying, "I can't believe that they actually went to the coordinates!"

I hope there is no Halo demo on the 24th. That would imply that this game is over. This game appears to finally be beginning. And honestly, I find this stuff much more interesting than Halo.

Just to add a bit more to the bee spec for some reason (god there are way too many coodinate threads now)

LONGMONT, CO

There are 2 coordniates in Longmont.

Longmont also appears to be home of the NATIONAL HONEY BOARD.

http://www.nhb.org

Neither of the 2 coordinates seem to fall on their heaquarters though - but they both appear to be equidistant from it by about a mile...who knows.

Sorry to go back to a more META level of discussion, but...

To those talking about Texas being excluded, etc:

The PMs know how we play these games. They know that they could, say, hand out ten copies of a business card at a press event and one of them will find their way back to us on the internet. (As occurred during the Beast.)

Putting people at 220 places isn't THAT difficult, especially with MS behind you - further, it's not too hard when a lot of them are very near each other.

Another interesting idea: The first two countdowns were manually edited. The "Wide Awake And Physical"/"Axons Go Hot" countdowns are Javascript - set to each of our own time. So you'll be there at 6am -local time- no matter what.

This has the potential to create a cascading information effect by the hour until 6am PST.

Not out of 220 it's not. You are either going to have to get a HUGE number of references (like closer to 100) or find another connecting aspect (like, each city has one bee reference a piece ... or state, or something).

I'll admit it looks highly coincidental ... but it also still just looks only that.

I bet I could pick any topic at random (well, okay, NEARLY any) and find three or more of the co-ordinates that are relevant. *shrug* Signal to noise, folks. We can't see the wood for the bees.

Yah.. as remarkable as the article coincidence is.. I'm starting to lose faith as I search for similar things for other locations. Ah well... I'll continue to look for a bit but I'm not as excited about it as I was. Razz
