I'd interpret that actually as we're going to see MORE coordinates pop up, and that the old ones aren't to the right exact place.

I don't believe so. I think it was just their way of working the flub into the story.

That's if you use a dialup service. You can reliably find server IPs, or IPs of people that are Always Connected.

I'm guessing that this means the points will be fixed. One of the points that was first posted was out in the ocean, and then "Fixed" soon after we started mapping them out. That seems to be what this is referring to - the widow built the road into the ocean and it had to be fixed.

So, it seems that since the queen will be making the roads now, that either the coordinates will change or a new list will go up somewhere.

I agree, roads branching out from the kingdom sounds like we need to map these branching out from the AI - San fran or Texas. My bet would be on Texas - that's where the server would be located, right?

Location: Is not Chicago

Why not do both?

Support for Texas: server is located there IRL

Support for California: e-mails have been sent from that area (IP-wise) in ladybee e-mails, it's the physical location of Dana's home

It would be impossible to determine a physical address from most emails or ip addresses.

For dialup addresses with nationwide companies, maybe not. For DSL and cable connections, or most dialup accounts even, I use:

http://www.geobytes.com/IpLocator.htm

This finds my town pretty well, and I use it all the time to find cities by IP. Very rarely is it wrong. It's not GPS accurate, but it's 9 times out of 10 I've used it pretty close.

so the way i am reading this, the axons are these roadways? which means there IS going to be SOMETHING at the points. I mean, axons are roadways for nerves, so shouldnt there be some sort of sensory input or something?

Well, thank goodness I posted about points coming out from SF just yesterday!

Fer cry eye.

Several of us have been doing that since at least Wednesday (and perhaps before -- that's just when I started mapping out distances between SF and the points). However, that alone wasn't going to get us much further, since we didn't know without some serious cryptoanalysis whether any of the outputs we got were going to provide a second layer of the puzzle.

Luckily, we seem to have some pretty whiz-bang GIS folks on this forum who have the background to do the heavy lifting on this. Since today's letter seems to point to the importance of SF's location, this should hopefully focus our efforts a bit more precisely.

Location: Far Far Away. Nowhere Near You. Really.

Guys, really. Dream on. You've seen what has been posted about locations visited. Unless the coordinates are "fixed" by the Queen there is no way they are going to put on a bungie event in the bus garage at National Airport or in people's back yards in Ohio (or wherever those were), and so forth. I would focus on other possibilities for this array of virtual axons.

nobody said there is going to be anything staged. what im saying is, there may be a switch at the new locations, or there may be a cell phone tower...something like that. i think we can expect to see different forms of communications represented at each of the points. i in no way expect to see a bunch of robots dancing around across the country at 220 sites. thats obviously not the case here. but since some of the coordinates are wrong, once they are fixed, i think we can expect to see more points falling on cell phone towers, internet routers, (post offices???) and the like.

[edit]

and not to be rude or anything, but before you jump on my posts again like that, make sure you read what it says before you try to make me look like an ass.

I think the PM's expected us to weed out the coordinates that didn't go anywhere. But everyone (myself included) was so focused on getting them to all fit together that there had to be this update to get us on the right track.
So I think some of the coordinates will go away, and be replaced by ones that correlate better with the others.

also, this could be nothing, but if you notice, and this may just be for emphasis, but in the email INTO THE SEA is capitalized like so. just for fun i went to acronymfinder.com and found that SEA is an abbreviation for south east asia-china. i doubt it, but the queen could have issued instructions to make a path to SEA and the widow got confused and just dropped it off in the sea. this is probably false, but it kinda makes sense in a convoluted way.

I like the idea, and looked at the email. There's a sentence a few before that you will find SEE. Go back to acronymfinder.com and look at the different ones. The one that corresponds with your idea would be South East Europe. But there are a couple others that are interesting.
Specifically: Society of Earthbound Extraterrestrials (Berkeley, California and Edmonton, Alberta)

DOES is also capitalized as well before these two. I'm not sure if that could be a location though...

I looked at that one also. Sorry I didn't mention it. It didn't make any sense. Except for the DEERS acronym. This is a HUGE stretch, but that is for medical coverage for military personnel. Most likely nothing, but thought I'd share my knowledge.

Research proposal: All Roads Lead To Texas

Just a quick look at one of the maps I created suggests that, if you draw straight lines radiating out from San Antonio, there are several "roads" that multiple points fall on. The points may be "neurons," the connecting lines (or "roads") their "axons." There may be a puzzle embedded in, for example, the number of points falling on a line.

I'm going to start working in that direction; if anyone with GIS experience would like to take this up or verify it, please do.
