babbler - that's more along the lines of what I had posted. I wasn't posting about distances, per se, more about that actual lines being drawn on the map.

What if the point of the email was just the PMs attempting to cover their butts after the ocean mistake? That mistake was fixed right away... If there are other mistakes - why haven't they been fixed yet? Not too hard to change a number.

Maybe their crack (see: crackhead) team of researchers are fixing the whole thing right now. Stupid PM's.
I found a map that shows several "internet backbones" which I think could be extrememly helpful once the locations are all correct. The only problem is that it's not a great map, but hoving over the dots will tell you where they're located. Let's not forget this thing moves through the internet.
Also, Wide Awake and Physical = WAP = Wireless Access Point (not sure if this has been mentioned). Maybe the WIFI thing is still alive and well!
edit: whoops... that's right, the webpage... http://www.caida.org/tools/visualization/mapnet/Backbones/

Here's an idea...
The Axons are "roads", maybe if we drew the axons radiating from the server there'd be relevant things lying ON THE LINES rather than at the end of them, anyone know where I can get a map that I could do this with that'd show quite a bit of detail? (I'm in the uk)

Yeah... but think storyline... how can an entity that's stuck in a computer going to travel down roads? Seek the truth... SHE'S STILL STUCK IN THE INTERNET!!!

I don't think the point here was that there would be something on actual physical roads, floormeyne, I think what was meant was that if we drew a line from the california location, to the locations, we would see where the queen's "roads" lie, and there may be information somewhere along that path, or meaning in the paths themselves. (did I get that correct, clipped wings?)

Something that give some more credibility to the Wi-Fi theory is this comment on Dana's Blog:
"Also: I emailed the Sleeping Princess, now that I'm in more wired country (not so many Wi-Fi spots along the Jinshanling section of the Great Wall"
Another thing to consider are the numbers that have been appearing in the blog recently. First it was 5913 and now 2000 and 42000, these might mean something.

If that be the case, then my apologies to clipped wings...

No, my fault for trying to be clever and stick with the metaphor.
Speaking of which, the places would be flies on the widows web.

I think the one problem with wifi is that, at least in most big cities, you can find a hotspot almost everywhere. Maybe not one you can access, but they're there. I'm in Seattle, and it's not uncommon to find four or five wherever you turn on your computer. (At least in the part I live, which is densly populated.) Although coincidentally I think 6 of the Seattle spots are that same neighborhood--within the same square mile or less, which might mean something in itself?

IN FAVOUR OF ROADS!!!
The queen told the spider to set off in a direction, not to build roads to a place, how would the spider know when to stop?

Well, I've determined that the distances between paired points have no hidden message when you asign a letter to each distance (0=a, 25=z, 26=a and so on...) But it only took a few minutes to come up with this:

I'll do one from the distance of each point to ilovebees whois.net address now, should be done in less than half an hour... I love perl scripts....

The page doesn't have much, just basicly a lot of random letters....
On a different note: Does anybody know the latitude and logitude of margaret's office?

BTW, I do believe people will recall making fun of my idea and calling it "bunk". You should note that the entity hints at the fact that this isn't a part of a literal puzzle, but instead part of the story line.
