More likely, *polite cough* She is gathering the coordinates and Flea, using his SPDR functions, is posting them. *more polite cough* Wink

But I guess my question is -> why would an network-based AI care about a road into water???

*dons meta-interpretation hat*

My interpretation of the road into water stuff is twofold:

1) a PM made a typo and this is an in-game joke about it ("oh, it's that dumb SPDR again")

2) it's the actual coordinate which is significant - it's a place, not just a number. So plotting the pairs and looking at the lines, trying to map digits into alphabets, etc. won't work for solving the puzzle.

In other words, we haven't solved the puzzle yet so... week 1 of no solve: subtle hint. If we're still floundering, expect a bigger hint on Tuesday or Friday.

*off with the hat*

Maybe because bees hate water in general... What do you do to get away from a swarm of bees? Jump in a lake or something. Could that be significant at all?

I doubt the road into the water is an attempt to escape from bees, metaphorically speaking. The Queen/Op's taking over of this website, her attempts at speaking by saying "I love bees!" over and over again, these references don't seem to me to be saying "Quick, jump in the water to avoid the swarm!" She seems rather fond of them, startingly.

Slightly off-topic, but since the notice on the main page about keeping things clean and together I'll just post it here. I'm sure there's more info hiding out there, but goodness the search function starts becoming less useful after so many posts. But yeah, I might be taking the metaphor too far, but she's the Queen on a bee site. Where's the drones? Where's the hive? Where's the comb? What's their honey? etc. Questions, questions that need answering, quothe Gandalf.

Queen does say she loves "bees". Not singular. That bit has always puzzled me a bit.

That's just normal English parlance, though. I love cats, I love dogs, I love computers, I love bees...

I mailed Dana a while back saying that she (Dana) was our Queen and we're her hive. When she mailed me back (The last update mail we all got, with our quick personal stuff in front) she said "Aunt M would've loved that, my busy hive" or something to that nature. I then later mailed Dana again asking her if SHE loved bees, or wasn't really fond of them. No reply yet, of course.

I keep wondering why we see so many Queen references, bee references, and no bees in general though. Where's Melissa getting the "I love bees" voice? I asked Dana if she had that on her computer at one point, like as if her Aunt said "It'd be nice if it would say "I love bees!" to everybody when they got on the site, wouldn't it dear?" but the idea later got dropped, but the recordings were left on the comp. They don't sound like synth voices, but recordings (PMs aside, it might be a clue). I'm just curious as to why Melissa would start off with that piece of text to try to say, other than the obvious links. Possible clues, or digging too deep?

SP mentioned that she liked bees back in the phase 2 picture texts, if I recall correctly. Just in case it matters, who in the story loves bees and who doesn't? Does SP look at us as being Dana's bees of sorts? Feeding honey (stories)? Daughter of a queen bee? Agh, the brain must stop!

Might be barking up the wrong honey tree.

Has anyone considered the idea of underwater/deep sea cabling? If we consider the roads to be a metaphor for networking connections, the road under the sea may be a cable or connection running under a body of water. There is that one GPS point off the coast of California. Anybody know a way of checking if there is cabling running in that area?

That point has been changed. There are now no points in the ocean.
