where'd that changeling-child.wav come from?

Interesting theory. Most people think of "changeling" to mean shapeshifter. However from early fairy tales, a changeling was specifically a fairy child which was put in place of a human one, usually without the humans knowing.

This would (and much of the new text seems to agree) that Melissa is still on her mission. She's not just looking for friends, she's assuming she is among enemies, and will evade, reveal, escape, etc.

IOW, she's not just in survival mode - she's still very much on the hunt.
