Think at it like this: Unless this is some sort of final in this ARG, and the PMs want us to physicaly show up at the locations (and that is pretty unrealistic when looking at some of the locations) - then the locations is relative and important to what the SPDR/Queen is doing. The SPDR has no way of travelling around looking at buildings just to make a puzzle for us to see. So, if this is to bring us further in the story, we should focus on what types of objects are important to the SPDR - and that is hardly a local bookstore or a mall. I still hold on to the theory that this somehow origins from a x-to-position database, and that "x" probably is related to ip-addresses/servers where the Queen may grow in strenght.
The problem is of course to find the database from where the locations were drawn.

(Of course it _could_ just be a plot item for showing us the rising power and plans of the Queen, but then we probably wouldn't have got a hint from the SP....)

I'm all for reviving my old "bee" theory... as a few of the sites had obvious bee references... I don't understand the queen's or SPDR's bee fixation... but ya go with what you've got...

Maybe only the points that have to do with bees are relevant - and we have to weed the rest out?

Yes, and there are more bee associations to be found.

Just poking around with Google, I came up with these:

92-1 Mr Bees Famous Chicken is nearby (but not at the exact location)

92-2 next to the Layton Hills Mall, whose new "gen Y" promo site is called whatzbuzzin.com

94-1 the Nephi Times-News has a bee story about this address

The wiki search is still disabled, so apologies if this info has already been posted there.

God at what point do we just swallow our pride and ask the PMs for a hint?

Embarassed

Not now....of course....... We don't need one.... I'm..... I'm just sayin' is all.

I looked into the "arrow" in Seattle, it looks like its pointing towards Redmond, Wa, where the Bungie offices are located.

It seems to me that there is a major accuracy problem with the GPS coords that is confusing everyone. I personally checked most of the chicago coords - GPS in hand - and they didn't exactly match wishi's list of addresses. But this then begs the question... do we follow the exact GPS coords? Or do we follow the addresses - (although depending on your source, the address for each coord can vary quite a bit). It seems to me that these coords were probably originally derived from addresses. So unfortunately, it is very possible that there are specific things the PMs want us to see at these sites, but we are missing it because of the discrepancies and terrible accuracy.

I would just like to point out that "1st Ave S, Seattle, WA 98104" GPS coord doesn't really have a street address, it just comes up as the whole street in mapquest. It does still have the GPS coord to define exactly "where" it's mean to be, but isn't attached to a store or building.

Here's a question.. Are there any traffic cameras at the GPS locations in the towns? We know that the Queen can work a webcam. Razz

[SPEC] Radio?

Do you think that maybe all of these locations have something to do with radio stations? One of the Operator's statements are as follows:
Quote:
When I was [DATA MISSING] I [DATA MISSING] big lump of crystal and wrapped a wire [DATA MISSING] voices! It was like a total magic trick to me.

Sounds like a crystal radio to me. This qualifies as wild spec, but if you wanted to have as strong of a signal as possible going out from earth, it seems one might coordinate as many transmitters as possible to send the message. Alternatively, the earth is already essentially "wrapped in wire", and as such, perhaps Melissa could create a planet sized crystal radio of her own. I'm not quite sure how this could translate into the coords we're seeing, but I'm working on it.

This thought occured to me, too, as a Chicagoan - one of the GPS coordinates corresponds roughly to the Sears Tower, which is the tallest structure in the city (and therefore has all of the most powerful TV and radio transmission equipment in the Chicagoland area mounted to its roof).

It's unlikely that all other 219 points could be found to correspond to transmission stations, but it's an interesting idea.

(BTW, since all the coordinates are in the US, I figured the FCC's searchable database of licensed transmitters would be a good place to look. I've tried entering a couple of coordinates and have found transmitters within a 1km radius, but I'm not sure that's precise enough to be meaningful.)

The transmission station point is interesting. They wouldn't all have to be transmission stations. We're talking about data point pairs, and axons, and "roads". Maybe a road could be a source point communicating with the transmission station. Then the transmission station broadcasts, signalling the "dendrites" (other nearby start points), which connect to their companion points, which in turn transmit more, or are a destination.

If the queen wanted to send something from point a to point b, perhaps this is the roads the spider has laid out, and they're all just some sort of sender or receiver. Axons and dendrites. Not sure what that would do for us, though-- we could map out possible source->dest maps of communication, but what good is that gonna do us?

Follow-up (should have done this before making the above post):

Here's a link to a crappy cell tower map: http://www.sprint.com/pcsbusiness/coverage/towermaps.html

I notice a very similar pattern to the axon locations. Similar blank spots in ND, SD, NE, ME, WY... but Texas is the stand-out difference. Anyway, it might be nothing, just thought I'd through this in.

I think the problem with some of this speculation is that, for points in big cities, there is always going to be something close by, no matter what "thing" you pick to search for. (Just to be clear, I am not trying to slam anyone thing or person in particular! Laughing ) I live near most of the Seattle locations, and they generally fall in the most densly populated part of the city, so whatever you canthink of, odds are, there's one somewhere nearby, be it cell phone towers, water, a wireless network, an Interstate, etc. I went to four locations, and my biggest problem was trying to figure out what I was looking for--as far as I could tell, there was nothing different about that spot than any spot on the next block, or the block before, or the block over. Hopefully Dana or the Flea or the SP will give us some sort of clue about what we might be looking for sometime in the near future ...

That being said, I'll still go check out all the spots again on the 24th, but I don't really expect to find anything. (I keep thinking that there has to be more to it than just those spots; otherwise, why give us the GPS info so far in advance of the wide awake and physical date?)

These GPS coordinates are very precise -- down to 15 ft in each direction, which is about 10 steps in each direction. We need to look at things that are within this precise area, and treat them separately from "nearby" things. After all, why would the GPS coordinates only be near the "thing" of interest, and not as exact as possible?
