At this time we can say that Draco is not the answer we were looking for in regards to the puzzle we sent out to people who sent in incomplete or bogus surveys.

I don't know about Splinter but my application was totally bogus. I thought submitting the survey would get me another piece of the puzzle...if there was another piece. Instead I got the same map Splinter got. I have absolutely no experience in any of the fields they were asking about and I answered that way. I guess they really are looking for PMs lol.

PM signup

Mine too, while factual in some regards was "out there" on some others. I have racked my brain (not a large task) trying this one. Graph paper, Replacement code, most everything and I have yet to get a sniff on this. If they are looking for PM's and if this is the "opening test" then I fail.

Still working on it, and thanks for the lovely diversions to Cambodia if nothing else.

Splinter,

www.landau-luckman-lake.com/map.htm

It's a map of Machu Picchu now. I'm more confused than ever but I love the spec about vortices and the opening in Angkor Wat and the exit in Machu Picchu.

map and painting

Well, Cemgate got one answer, at least, if only to say Draco was incorrect for the map.

I haven't heard anything on the charcoal semaphore yet.

Anyone else want to try mailing them, or perhaps mailing them some alternate solution?

AH, /Map.htm

Doh, never thought to go back to the url again. Thanks.

Thinking out loud now, but perhaps the directions are Arrow and those represent some sort of morse or semephore code again. Grasping at straws now, but perhaps the numbers had little meaning in the last map as well.

BTW - I am saving these pages locally if anyone needs full contents at any time. Happy to load or link to them if I can figure out how.

Edit - Happy to email them, need addy we are using. - edit

Aw, geez guys. This vortex is like three miles from my house. I pass within a quarter mile of it almost every day. Shocked

From the looks of it though, I'm not sure I want to go poking around there, although who knows? I might be able to find some of the socks that have mysteriously disappeared out of my dryer. I'll keep an eye out for any icy DeLoreans, tho.

I was thinking about the Map Directions puzzle. What I noticed was that its always been the same directions but when the 2nd picture went up, a letter in the 3rd line got bumped to the line below it, causing a chain effect for a total of 4 lines.

Becaue the chain reaction doesn't continue for ALL of the following lines, this leads me to believe that those lines that were affected are a paragraph or a word of somesort. In other words, whatever they translate to, it stands alone.

So I believe it breaks down like this:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
PART 1
EENWESEEE
WNSESSEE

PART 2
SWWEWEEEW
NWNSNNEN
SEESWSEWN
EEWEEESSEE

PART 3
WNSESSEES
EEEWNWNSN
NENWWESWS
ESWNEWSE

I'm not sure if that means anything or if it helps but that's my best guess at this time.
