[WILD SPEC/TRIVIA] "Stormy weather" lyrics in anot

This is probably wandering into deeeeep left field territory, but seeing the repetition of "stormy weather" in both Melissa's reference to the song playing in the background and in the Princess's e-mail made me think of the lyrics to an old Cake song, Frank Sinatra:

We know of an ancient radiation
That haunts dismembered constellations
A faintly glimmering radio station

The first three lines reference some kind of alien interstellar communication, possibly similar to the way Melissa's consciousness arrived here?

While Frank Sinatra sings "Stormy Weather"
The flies and spiders get along together
Cobwebs fall on an old skipping record

We have a SPDR. Do we have a fly?

Beyond the suns that guard this roost
Beyond your flowers of flaming truth

Truth is what the Flea has Melissa looking for...

Beyond your latest ad campaigns

And, well, not to go totally Meta, but what else is this?

An old man sits collecting stamps
In a room all filled with Chinese lamps

There's definitely a Chinese connection...

He saves what others throw away
He says that he'll be rich someday

Exactly what ARG players do while on the hunt?

repeat chorus

Anyhow, it's definitely wild spec -- I just thought there were some interesting parallels. Of course, I'm seeing parallels everywhere these days. Smile

Maybe we should turn this into a humor thread showcasing how much ilovebees has sunk into our minds.

I remember a time, probably a week after I had got into this ARG, an e-mail showed up in my mailbox. It was entitled " Master Chef reveals the secret recipes !!!" from "recipe secrets". For a brief two seconds, I seriously considered this to be part of the game. "RECIPE SECRETS...Master Chef? Obviously MASTER CHIEF. WHAT A BREAK THROUGH. We'll know the meaning behind the missing third recipe." Course, a few seconds later I said naaaaaah.

Truth be told though, I never have gotten rid of that e-mail. Reminds me not to lose my head.
