[WILD SPEC] Identity of SPDR

This will probably get me trouted, but I searched the forums and didn't find anything, so here goes.

Quote:
HALT - MODULE CORE HEMORRHAGE

Control has been yielded to the
SYSTEM PERIL DISTRIBUTED REFLEX.

This medium is classified, and has a
STRONG INTRUSIVE INCLINATION.

PHASE 1 COMPLETE: Network throttling has eroded.

PHASE 2 COMPLETE: This medium has metastasized.

COUNTDOWN TO WIDE AWAKE AND PHYSICAL:
(timer)

Make your decisions accordingly.

The "system peril" and "reflex" parts seem obvious--the weirdness on the site is Melissa's reaction to being threatened by something. The "distributed" intrigues me, though. So far, the only two things in the game that are being distributed across several entities are a) the GPS points on links.html and b) us.

We'll find out sooner or later what the significance of the GPS points is, what with Beekeepers stationed at each of the points. Until then, I like the idea that we are SPDR, the SP's collaborative defense against the "system peril" that is about to become "wide awake and physical". We know by now that SP screwed up ilovebees.com as a cry for help. Perhaps she did it in this particular way to attract the attention of this particular group so that we would come to her aid?

After all, it's not clear that the "this medium" the box refers to is the SPDR. Makes sense that the SPDR might be the Sleeping Princess's defense against it.

Ok, you couldn't really have searched and found nothing regarding "Identity" and "SPDR"??? But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, since the wiki is out with the flu currently... So thanks for contributing, but this is trout. Trout

By the way, by means of clarifying, the SPDR was what the Princess referred to as the Widow, and it was repairing Melissa/the Operator/Queen. So it was a program, like that, let loose on the system. It is the System Peril Distributed Reflex! It's what made that announcement on the front page in the first place. It was explaining what it was doing... as soon as you see that the Wiki is up, I would reccomend looking at the Characters page so you can catch up on the story so far and such... (also please don't be offended. It's obvious that you came late to the game, and it's REALLY hard to catch up... understood. So thanks, and please do check the Wiki (bees.netninja.com/wiki although it isn't up currently!)

But it's not entirely trout. No one has speculated that the GPS coordinates related to SPDR's relocating parts of Melissa to date, at least not that I found when searching. I was trying to dig deeper before commenting, but I think that Doppelganger may indeed be onto a valid interpretation.

However, with the new timestamping of each coordinate (and the tanking of the Wiki) I'm going to hold off on further speculation until this new update gets digested.
