There are still some bogus entries in the new list.

Entries that have something to do with bees or whatever, but which are so far out of the way that it's hard to imagine that any sort of game event would occur there.

A few examples -

39.1879 -77.7977 is a house that was sold by the Buzz team, at www.buzzbuzz.com (url)

39.715873 -111.836266 is a house that had a bee-related event covered by the local newspaper (url)

and 37.625392 -109.475012 is Mr Bees Famous Chicken (url)

The points are completely different. Cleveland had four before (all lying in uninteresting or inaccessible spots); now it has six completely different ones. There's no way to pair them.

The points are not completely different. One of the Berkeley points is roughly the same - 16:43 PDT - -122.258633,37.866867. So is one of the San Francisco points - 12:50 PDT - -122.407931,37.784899.

BTW most, if not all, of the points listed in Oakland are actually in Berkeley.

I still think it is worth the effort to figure out, online, what business or organization is at each address before we all go out there. This could still be a puzzle like the links puzzle -- data encoded as locations and times that actually are a set of phrases.

Speaking of the non-US thing, *we love you!* why doesn't this radiate out from a starting point, like a SPDR's web? Instead it branches across the country, with one point ending up in the ocean. Widow, Spider, whatever, I think web, but it doesn't look very spider webbish. Networks are webs, though. Spec away.

According to wishi-san location data:

I find it interesting that while CA has the most hits, DC is like third.

And it's basically just a city. Not one of our largest states.

And it's rumored to be where Rackspace would be hosting ILB.

Does Melissa have to make return trips?

Can anyone else confirm that there are three points in the ocean now?

9:23 AM
11:23 AM
5:55 PM

(The times seem to be an easy way to refer to them now.)

According to MS Streets & Trips 2004, the second is squarely on land, but the first is four miles out into the Pacific. The third is six miles into the Pacific.

Pretty amazing.

points like this make it seem even more likely that we should ignore some of the coordinates.

do any of the times from dana's blog posts match up with times on ILB?

Actually, the internet is a decentralized framework, so it's not very weblike. Imagine dozens of webs with spindles going to each other's centers and that would be closer.

And if it were, a web doesn't look like a web unless you illuminate the whole thing at once, not just the parts a spider crawls (think about the early stages of a web in formation)

Has anyone else been to the page that Dana previously sent us to- (google: WTF, SOS, bees)?
It was taken off the blog page but I was able to find it anyway. It's got coordinate thingies too! Anyway here's the page or you can google it-

www.xydexx.com

If this is already been discussed Trout me!

What's important

Anybody consider that the important info may be what spots didn't change rather than what did?

Maybe we're seeing a search for something, and the spots that aren't changing are the significant spots.

Okay, consider yourself trouted. The site is a hoax, as previously discussed here and in the "Falsities" section of the Wiki.

(We still respect you and welcome your contributions and all that. Mr. Green )

VERY well done there Shad0 Wink --Giskard

That would coincide with reduced locations. It's just narrowing the search.

Not to mention, this is all completely the work of Melissa (or for the sake of argument, the flea) since the SPDR was killed off. So there's really no reason to look for "Web" comparisons anyway. Rolling Eyes

Unless Flea is taking over SPDR's functions...

Speaking of - note the format change Wink
