My two have payphones. I'm going to be checking at both 6 and 9, just to be sure, since my clock runs down to 6AM, but my position is 9AM. Smile

To the north were 2 payphones right outside Social Security Office. Unconfirmed if they receive incoming calls. *Note armed guard watched closely as I took these photos.

Other points of interest:
Barnes and Noble at Durant St. and Shattuck Ave may be a T-Mobile wireless internet hotspot. I could not confirm this.

"UCS" computer store at Haste St. and Shattuck Ave has internet access at the rate of $6 per hour.

There are 2 EB Games locations in close proximity.
2200 Shattuck Ave at Allston
2309 Telegraph Ave near Bancroft Way

Good luck everybody and happy Axon day!

About 60% of the points I checked online had payphones listed at these three websites, mainly at the first one:
http://www.payphone-directory.org/ (-- mysteriously down at the moment)
http://www.payphoneproject.com/payphones/usa/650/
http://www.payphoneproject.com/numbers/search.html

That leaves 40% of the points either listed somewhere else, or without payphones.

There have been a couple of reports of people unable to find payphones anywhere near a point. So keep your eyes as open as your ears. Don't be surprised if something happens other than a ring.

NAGROM7 Has the VA Bch Location covered

I'll be camped out at the VIRGNIA BEACH location tomorrow at 10:07 EDT (7:03 PDT). Im sure other people will too, but I'll have "recording equipment" with me to document any phone calls, Halo 2 demo pickup locations, or Covie. dropships Wink. I'll report back as soon as I get back from the coordinates (and have changed soiled pants). Figure'd I'd throw out some info on the location... Corner of Pacific Ave and Laskin Road. Spot is right outside a WAFFLES AND THINGS a block from the beach near a bank some other shops and a few payphones. Good luck to everyone and I hope you join me in praying that it wont be a phone call with this recorded message... "Congratulations, you're one of the first people to experience....the dissapointment that Halo 2 has been delayed another year. SUCKER 'Elite Laugh'" Wink

An associate of mine will be at -- 09:44 PDT - -116.791832,47.700420 | Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, United States -- with a tape recorder. I called this phone, but hopefully the posted number is wrong as a modem tone answered.

I will be at -- 10:59 PDT - -116.789477,47.729664 | Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, United States -- with the recorder and then report both incidents to the toll-free number (en-route to a company function). The phone at these coordinates is INSIDE an Applebees which opens at 11AM. I suppose I'll bang on the door or order something to get in.... XD

I have another associate who is a relation of a Halo 2 in-house tester. When asked about ilovebees they said, "Bungie is a really cool studio take their Halo worlds and make them part of our world."

Quite encouraging.

I'll be at the 17:35 and 17:55 Seattle axons. Depending on traffic the 17:35 might be a push, but since I work in the u-district I think I'll be able to get there in time. The 17:55 won't be a problem at all, however.

I'll have a mini-dv camcorder and a cheapie handheld gps unit.

SHHHH!!! I don't want there to be too many people there since I'm driving 2 hours!!!
Just kidding!! It'll be cool to see other people there. Hopefully there will be WiFi around there. There is a hospital across the street it looks like, so maybe it will pick that up.
