[OT/QUESTION] Bees website set as wallpaper background?

I've looked for an hour, but haven't found the answer; if this is old news please feel free to lock this down in a heartbeat AND beat me with stinky fish.

But. I just stumbled onto the game tonight (yes, I'm one of those evil people who "broke" the wiki by clicking the PA link), spent a few enthralled hours reading everything I could, then closed a few IE windows...

to find my computer wallpaper had changed to what appeared to be two large, badly drawn, pixelated images of bees.

I'm assuming this is an occurence so common that it doesn't even get mentioned anymore, here or on the wiki -- or else I somehow managed to click something and change my wallpaper, like a moron.

So which is it? Old news, or moron? I'm still feeling pretty creeped out by the experience. Wink

PS: Only visited in-game sites and the wiki, and I didn't see the image on any of those sites, so I'm a little confused as to how I could have changed the background, I must confess.

EDIT - Cleared up the topic listing - SG

uh...

News to me. I've been reading this forum and following the wiki for about 3 weeks on this thing, and i've never heard of anything like that. Any more details, like maybe what Windows calls it or what the file is named?

I dunno if a in-game site could legally do that or not. But if they did, then i strangely want one.

Sounds like the background. That is two "badly" (some might say "stylized", Very Happy) bees tilled to form the background.

Now I can't see it of course, so I can't offer much advise/wisdom/verbose drivel. Still, based on the evidence I have at hand, it seems simplest to say that it was an accidental click somewhere along the way.

Sigh. I'm trying to get my background to change to the ilovebee background, but sadly my computer is fighting me. I'll have it uploaded in a second post, assuming someone doesn't beat me to it, so you can see what it would like and we can contrast and compare.

Hm. I thought about it, and remembered that my computer is a little cranky and sometimes will display parts of websites I was looking at as the desktop, rather than the actual background... but I checked Properties, and sure enough, it had actually been changed from the saved file I was using to Internet Explorer Wallpaper.

A stray click does sound likely (knowing me!), but I'm also not certain I'd even *seen* the picture before. Will have to check around the sites again to doublecheck.

Thanks!

Well, here's a copy of screen captures I took of my desktop with the new wall paper. It uses both the gray and white version of the bee background. Tell me if it looks familiar.

Grey wallpaper

White wallpaper

I left the icons on for comparison sense. If leaving the icons on is a big no-no in security sense, tell me.

The grey one is definitely what I saw, Luke, but I'm still pretty confused as to *how* I saw it. I played around with right-clicking, and while I'm not a true computer geek, I'm certainly a pretty involved user -- it seems like it's too much of a chance that I'd accidentally right-click, *and* accidentally hit "set as background" rather than any of the other myriad possible options.

I'm still scratching my head over this one, but thanks for helping out! Smile

Oh, it's easy...accidentally right-click, then accidentally press 'g' to select the underscored letter in "Set as background".

Aha! Now *that* sounds like something I'd do! Smile

Mystery (most likely) solved. Now to reset the IE wallpaper so I'm not looking at stretched-out, pixelated bees every time I load up. Smile

easy enough

if only the rest of the mystery could be so easily solved.

Man, that woulda been damn cool, though undoubtedly wrong/illegal, if the PMs started going after people's Windows themes, desktops and screensavers.
