Dream Projector

The last dream move, DRP ID 2004_00017, is a hand writing bloody letters on the wall. He says these are random. Let's see. Here they are:

P
S
U
C
M
H - this one isn't shown being drawn
M - could possibly be an N or H also
E
L

Any ideas?

Can anyone make out what the reflection in the knife says in the first film?

Or what some of the writing on/in the book is?

The knife looks like it is in the kitchen, and the reflection seems to be the back wall from what i can see.

As far as the text goes, I think our best check to figure out what it says, it to figure out what the painting in the book is.

The H looks like the one that was drawn after it (could mean two H's) but it didn't look like an M or N to me (these are all capital letters).
At the end is the four fingers drawning downward.

I tried ROT (nothing).
I tried anagram and got "HELP CHUMS" (if I used 2 H's).

Dream Movie for DRP ID 2003 00176
Jeanne M. Age: 32 Home State: Nevada Date: 02/19/2003
Driving cars in the city, freeways, different city. As it was described in text description 2003-00176 990034.

Dream Movie for DRP ID 2003 00246
Victoria N. Age: 33 Home State: Florida Date: 03/13/2003
As she described in text description 2003-00246 689306, flames (fire), marching band, and electricity.

Dream Movie for DRP ID 2003 00353
William S. Age: 51 Home State: Michigan Date: 06/17/2003
Distorted lense view going through a forest, then an abandoned building, graffitti "Pasth....." or "Posth...." on a cement block inside the building with broken windows. A quaire opening (cement doorway?), windows in a brick building, lsomething comes thru the window, then a ladder (this building looks like the Cambridge Mental Hospital, door with God and cross (spraypainted) on the left door which then opens and it looks like someone will be coming thru (but projection ends).
Similar to the text description 2003-00353 980124

Dream Movie for DRP ID 2003 00521
Brad C. Age: 41 Home State: Ohio Date: 09/28/2003
Similar to text description 2003-00521 990612.
The bleeding colors of red, yellow and green gain focus into the drawing of a sun face (we may need to find the original picture). Then the very close view of the pendulum barely missing the blocks (I've seen something like this at museums - world clocks and stuff like that - can anyone find this particular one?)

Dream Movie for DRP ID 2004 00017
Debbie T Age: 22 Home State: New York Date: 1/24/2004
The actual movie is more detailed than the text description 2004-00017 668603 (with the letters spelled out as previous posts). And the four fingers sliding down the wall leaving the l l l l mark.

(I think we may need to identify that picture/book)

Here is an inverted screen cap of the picture.

I think the guy in the middle is the Grim Reaper. You can kind of make out the Dark robe and i think he's holding a scythe

This is what's called a Foucault pendulum - you do see them in observatories and museums frequently, they demonstrate the earth's rotation among other things. See the Smithsonian's page on Foucault pendulums for more info. There's one here in Chicago at the Museum of Science and Industry, though I don't believe it's the one pictured in this dream sequence - this pendulum's period is too short, for one thing, and the pins are unfamiliar. In fact the pins (the black things the pendulum strikes as it swings, which are used to track the pendulum's changing arc) seem unique and might be key to identifying this one.

(Of course maybe someone way geekier or at least more awake than me can time the pendulum's period (3-4 seconds?) and calculate backward to get the pendulum's length, and perhaps use that to track this one down... period = 2 * pi * sqrt(Length * g) if anyone's interested...)

this dream is all about Foucault - in addition to the pendulum, the pins look to be the things you use to send a telegraph, and one of Foucault's first inventions was a telegraph device. In addition, I got the impression that the first section of the video was being seen through water, which acts like a prism and breaks the light up into the spectrum. Once we're in the air, all we see is the more common yellows and reds normally associated with sunlight.

I can't sum it up in a sentence, but it seems a lot of Foucault's work was about caustics, or light through water.

From http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/06156c.htm

No idea what it means, but that's nothing new Smile

"Posthole". And in the same handwriting as "God". I think it says "God 1" or maybe "God I". There is also the word "MORTIS" (Death) in the same handwriting among the graffiti on the door in the beginning.

Lots of images from that dream correlate with pictures from the cambridge website. The hole, the doorway, the graffiti...

It could be the same site. But I am not quite sure. If you compare the rusty lid frames that surround both holes, you notice that both the one on the Cambridge site and DRP ID 2003 00353 has had similar joints. There is however grass surrounding the hole in DRP ID 2003 00353, which isn't present in the hospital image. This indicates that both are entries to the same service system, which possibly is located in the same area. I didn't find any grafitti that matched, both look like your run-of-the-mill modern ruins.

Perhaps the "posthole" is a hole for posting? Perhaps the rope is tied to a container for messages? Perhaps something is hidden in these holes?

In archaeology, you often find sites where buildings have been constructed using wooden beams embedded in holes in the ground. Over time the wood rots away, leaving the posthole.

I knew all those hours watching Time Team was going to come in handy.

Hi, first-timer here Smile I was poking around dreamprojector.com, and decided to give ftping to it a go... and this is what happened:

Code:
ftp> open dreamprojector.com
Connected to dreamprojector.com.
220-=(<*>)=-.:. (( Welcome to PureFTPd 1.0.12 )) .:.-=(<*>)=-
220-You are user number 3 of 50 allowed.
220-Local time is now 06:56 and the load is 0.48. Server port: 21.
220 You will be disconnected after 15 minutes of inactivity.
Name (dreamprojector.com:handwash): anonymous
500 Security extensions not implemented
SSL not available
331 Any password will work
Password:
230 Any password will work
Remote system type is UNIX.
Using binary mode to transfer files.
ftp> ls
200 PORT command successful
150 Connecting to port 43890
drwxr-xr-x    2 32538    32539        4096 Jul 24 12:46 incoming
226-Options: -l
226 1 matches total
ftp> ls incoming
200 PORT command successful
150 Connecting to port 43891
226-Options: -l
226 0 matches total

So, in summary, you CAN log in to dreamprojector.com with an anonymous username (and enter no password, just hit enter)... and you can't login anonymously at any of the other sites. And what's in there is an as-yet empty 'incoming' folder... which would seem to imply that something's going to be coming, perhaps. The 50 user limit might also mean something...

For the record, tomorrowstalk also users PureFTPd, but has anonymous logins disabled, with a 50 user limit; dreadhouse has ProFTPd, and cambridgementalhospital is running NcFTPd with anonymous logins again disabled.

Just thought it might be of help Smile

I'm not sure if that's the word MORTIS or not. There seems to be an extra letter or two between the T and S, if the spacing between each letter is about the same. So it would be MORT__S... Any suggestions? The only word i can think of is mortals
