[E-mail] 8/21 E-mail from Dana

Don't know if this helps. I e-mailed Dana the other day about her quote on her blog and she replied with this.

Quote:

Hi Chris,
so you're a fan of existentialism, too? cool. my favorite text is
Camus' myth of Sisyphus. "We must imagine Sisyphus to be happy." I
love that.
good luck on tuesday, or rather good luck to your cousin and brother...
i'll be thinking of you guys when the axons go hot.
-d.

Don't know if it's a lead, I'll let you be the judge. I haven't read Camus' myth of Sisyphus but I'll be looking into it. Trout me kindly if this is old, although I did search and found nothing.

This is the original e-mail that I sent her.

Sisyphus, a guy who perpetually pushes a rock up a hill to only have it roll back to the bottom when he gets to the top.

Kind of like how we've been banging our heads against this axons puzzle, only to have every theory come up empty. She also says we have to imaging this guy being happy to do it. I guess I did enjoy the theorizing, even as futile as it was.

[edit] I like that little gif, think I'll make it my avatar. Fits this game to a tee.

That is a likely connection Smile But I have no regrets either. It's just part of deduction, and sometimes the creative process itself. You can't assume everything is salvageable at once, it's a method of elimination.

Take our dear Princess. I've used parts of one spec to assume she was at one point a SPARTAN, then a cryopod helper AI and now a backup of Melissa. Each refinement kept something and lost a lot. Same with the coords puzzle. I had first assumed there was something to decode to tell us -which- coord to go to, then that radio ads would be used to broadcast to as many people as possible and now I'm leaning to the payphones. Now, though, I've got research/evidence which at least makes the payphone theory feel more complete and understandable.

Course, on Tuesday it could still be dancing robots. That rock gets heavy towards the top...
