[UPDATE] Ok, so now we vote (404 page update)

SCORE! I've officially been mentioned in the ARG! WOOHOO!!! Anyway, we have to choose which email questions the Princess will answer... and I personally vote for mine, because the questions were designed to seem simple, but have underlying meaning (although the favorite color part was just a lead-in...)

Favorite food is to determine the true nature of the Princess. If an AI, then what kind of food could she possibly eat?

Best way to make her happy? (Uncover her motives)

Save your mother/yourself question, (determine "good" factor, as well as try to see what relationship Princess actually has with Queen.

Anyway, what do you think!

(an actual poll topic will be set up in Interactions for the vote -- catherwood)

Oh wow! Good one, DM!!!

With all due respect DM, I think we really, really need her to answer the Andy G email about the nature of the Pious Flea.

Either that, or start a massive write-in campaign for one of the other major mysteries: http://bees.netninja.com/wiki/index.php?title=Mysteries

I hear ya, but the only ones that are really intriguing to me are the flea one, the PaulC question (cuz that tells us about the nature of the Queen, the flea and the SP), and for some strange reason I really really like Bellebet's question too. (I just have a feeling it wouldn't be included unless we could gain something, but then again, this is a game...)

I just am SO excited though! I'm sorry, but this is SOOO cool! I really want to hear from Bellebet, PrinceoftheSword, and all the email writers too! I want to hear their takes...

Edit: While I understand the Mysteries part, I feel like that's "against the rules" and the Princess, whatever else she is, is a gamer. She likes the rules, and it's all about her wishes right now. I feel we gotta choose from just these options.

2nd Edit: I love that she's smirking. Laughing That's right in our faces... It's just so frustruatingly awesome.

Oh, and, uh, BTW... why is SP posting plainly to the website now? She has done this a couple of times before ("problem quite interesting", "innocent bystander"), but usually she hides her messages in e-mail or in corrupted images.

Is she no longer afraid because the SPDR is gone? Is this the manifestation of what she said in last week's e-mail (i.e. that it's easier to be brave now that Dana's back in play)? Are we confused about identity? Something else?

(Sorry, I realize this is a bit OT)

I hear ya Extrasonic. this is why I feel my questions are still of importance. We've got the SP for now, and she's willing to answer questions, so let's find out what we can about her, and then we can judge those answers for ourselves in future submissions!

That is completely awesome.

And She only posts in sly, out of the way places. Her most obvious was over the image and I think that was a clue to look for her in the images.

very interesting... very interesting indeed.

looking at the options we have, i would have to choose either andyG's flea question, ar belbelet. while belbelet's quetion seems whimsical, it might be a big payoff, if the SP gives us some info on something she needs. amore powerful or active princess would certainly make things pick up, methinks.

also, it looks like the question game isgoing to be ongoing, since she is soliciting more questions... i wonder what the tun around time will be?

Understood. I took her solicitation for new questions to mean for this "round", but after re-reading, I agree that she's looking for questions for a future iteration of this "game".

This is very cool! Finally a big time in-game character interation (besides Dana, which is more like a 'general' interation)...

So, what do we do now? Which question seems more revelant to be answered? Like DM said, his questions, if answered, will reveal more of the SP character.

I was wondering "Ok, she is willing to answer the winner. But, will she tell us what we are expecting to hear?" For instace, in Andy G's question about the Flea. She may not give any clue about the flea at all, it will be just her opinion and that's it. (I'm saying this because she doesn't seem to know a lot about the flea, only what she spies)

My point is, we should pick a question that will give us a lot of info, based in what she knows more (herself!).

IMO, DM's question fits right there.

Which is why you should "vote early, vote often". Who knows how rapid the response will be? If there's an expectation that her answer will help us on the 24th, then we should be voting immediately - she could answer right away.

I'm still thinking about it but there's 2 immediate options that leap out at me.

1) Bellebet (" Is there anything you need to brighten up your room?") is kind of a setup question. You're hoping she'll bite so you can reel her in with a bigger question.

2) Kevin V("are you a copy of her that has got a new life(?) And could you tell me your function(?) or that of the Queen's(?)") is a risky shot. We don't need her to tell us about the Queen really because we know enough at this point. But the Princess herself is a real mystery - hell, we don't even know whether she's human-origin or Forerunner-origin - so any light she sheds on herself is most welcome.

She's already told us a bunch about the Flea so I'm not sure it's worth pursuing Andy G's question at this point.

404 page text.

Quote:
Dorkmaster wrote me a letter with a fun idea inside, which was to play a question game, only and please don't be mad about this, only your game has no way for someone to WIN, and I like games where someone wins.

When I am smirking, I do this Wink

So I made up some new rules, and here they are. I leafed through all the lovely, lovely letters you sent me, and I picked out some of the funnest ones that also had questions in them. I will answer one letter, and YOU get to choose which one, which makes that person the winner!

Here they are:

Paul P
Out of place, lost, alone. Where did you come from? What tools do you require to get back? Your stories intrigue me. Perhaps you could write another?

Kevin V
I just wanted to know why you're so afraid of the Queen(?) Are you to be erased if she sees or hears you(?) are you a copy of her that has got a new life(?) And could you tell me your function(?) or that of the Queen's(?)

Bellebet
How is the decoration of your dungeon coming along? Is there anything you need to brighten up your room?

Andy G
Would you be so kind to reveal the nature of the Pious Flea, that is, what is its purpose? A mere servant of the Queen or something greater?

Paul C
Where is the Castle? Can you see anything from the windows? What will the Queen do if you are found? Is she afraid of you, or are you afraid of her?

Jacqueline H
Who exactly is in the castle with you? You mentioned a boy building sand castles with you; who is he?

Lee C
Do you ever get to play with the queen or the Pious Flea? The widow, what had she ever done to you and the queen? Why don't you miss here much? Doesn't it seem kind of boring now that the widow is gone?

jmcdonald
There's a lot of references to bees in the Queen's "home." Do you know a lot about bees? Do you think there's a way to rescue the Queen from what she's become? She seems so sad and scary now. Stay safe and don't get caught, but we really love reading what you send us, too. Love, Prince of the Sword

Dorkmaster
What is your favorite color? What is/was your favorite food? Where do you see yourself in five years? What's the best way someone could make you feel happy? If there was a catastrophe and only one person, yourself or your mother, could be saved and you had to choose, who would it be? (If you don't mind telling...Why?)

To VOTE, send me a letter with the name of the person whose question you want answered where it says "subject"

You can also send me questions of your own. Who knows - I might pick yours next time!

so, i just fired off what i think could be a very important question for the next round: What is the sleeping princess' name, and what does it mean?

and i think i will vote for the flea question in an hour or so, unless the consensus here shows me a good reason for something else.

later ya'll. it's lunchtime, and they're unchaining me from my desk! yay!
