[META] Gaming etiquette at the coordinate points

Nobody has talked about this yet, so I thought I'd write up a little reminder for those going to visit coordinate points on Tuesday.

Back during the Beast, there were three live in-person rallies that were in-game, and these coordinate meetings may be in-game events similar to that. Apparently, a group of eager players followed one of the rally hosts after the event, and he eventually had to stop and tell the players that he was just an actor paid to run the rally, and to please stop following him.

In light of this, I wanted to suggest that people keep in mind that any live people running these coordinate events in person are probably just paid temp workers.

Please don't harass them, stalk them, follow them home or do anything to make them feel unduly uncomfortable.

Clearly we are eager to see what's going on, and we may actually know more about what is happening than they do. Let's do be excited, do get into the game, do have fun, but let's also represent each other well.

I don't have any official position here. These are just my personal suggestions. I did want to get them out there, though.

Also to add to this... if it is INDEED a payphone call and there is a group there with you, please work out who answers it BEFORE the call... Preferably someone with a recorder if there is one present..

Be respectful to your fellow ARG-mates and have fun!

Goodluck, as I'm not near any of the points Smile

show up early to make sure no one goes to the coordinates and sets up out-of-game crap to throw you off.... how will we know the difference?

ah, this is a good point... how can we be sure to trust that anything that we find will actually be in-game?

This is a very good point. I did read posts on an xbox board of people thinking of leaving fake items at some of the locations. So keep an open eye and an open mind. Smile

Well, coordination with people at other points... the times are four minutes apart which is pretty significant.. if something is there before the time specified, i'd take it with a grain of salt.
