Soapcore and I were at the 8:31 AXON at the GPS 39.951054 -075.153517 location and scouted the suroundings since 11:10AM waiting for the call. Did not find or see anybody else in the area looking for this AXON.
Staked out the Train Station and the Farmers Market, market is a dud (payphones do not receive calls there).

Do you guys know something we don't? Where exactly were you guys at 11:31? Please share info.

We were at 8th and Market, right near the Burger King (southeast corner). The phone in question is at the bottom of the stairs, in the train station.

I wonder if it'll ring tomorrow? Shame I can't take time off work.

*sigh*

Makkablue divined the GPS cordinates to confirm the 8th and market location. Thanks for the info.
Soapcore and perhaps Makkablue will be at the AXON location tomorrow!

I was there again, and I thought I would be doing it alone, but at the last minute two nice young men from the Halo forums dropped by. I let one of them take it after rehearsing him thoroughly. Smile I have a pic I can post later; didn't get their names but they may drop by to see what UF is doing because we have so much info about what is going on.

Just thought I would stop by after being directed here by someone I met at an Axon this morning.

A handful of people turned up this morning at the 08:07PDT axon in Indianapolis in the Dizzy set. After some discussion I asked if I could answer the phone and was happy when everyone else agreed that it was fine. At the exact right time the phone rang and I went through all the standard stuff, andswered, "Operator," and immediately got the dizzy audio that we'd already heard from yesterday. We repeated so each person present could hear the audio and then I was off, headed back to work, which I had left mid-morning to reach the axon.

I'll be following along from here on out!

My friends and I drove to Lafayette Louisiana from Texas(2 hours). We had two of the sites mapped on satelite photos but did not get the the phones in time do to running out of gas. However, we did run across a sign that read "Home of the Spartans" which apparently is the football team's mascot. For those of you who don't get it Spartan is the name for cyborgs like Master Chief.

four_goats - 14:08 PDT 41.933417 -087.645220

Ok, so I just came from the coords for four_goats at Chicago. I did the following:

- I hit the Borders, and I called BOTH numbers listed on the phones from my cell phone.
* 773-404-6903 rings when you call it, but if you pick up the pay phone while you're calling it, it's just a dial tone, so it's not an issue of the ringer being off. It doesn't accept incoming calls BUT it doesn't play a message either. I also called my cell phone from this phone to make SURE it was the correct number listed, and the caller ID matched the number above
* 773-404-6873 plays a "number not in service" message. I couldn't call out from it as there was someone on the phone, obviously with a calling card, as they were on for over 20 mintues.

- Since the Borders didn't accept incoming calls, I headed to the pay phones at the Bally's inside the Century mall. I called the numbers on both phones (773-348-6711 and 6103). Both phones rang. I waited there until 16:13 (local time) without a call. Since I waited upstairs at the theater yesterday, I thought I'd try there.

I dunno if it matters, as we seem to have activated four_goats, but if there *is* something to getting more than two per category, this location looks to be a bust. There is a pay phone across the intersection to the south at the Coconuts, but it doesn't take incoming calls either.

Showed up at the 12:38 WA seattle one, Only myself and one other were present. we both stated that the 11:38 one was about impossible alone, so went to the next one.

We didnt nail it, but we waited at the payphones outside the safeway(foodmart?) and no ring, at the exact location of the GPS stuff, there was no payphone. so maby it was the one down the road more off of the location.

Think i might make the drive tommrow from Roy again, but highly doubtfull, ( man that drive is a KICK IN THE REAR ) Was nice meeting the person I met Very Happy if ya show tommrow, think ya could record it for me, AIM is Madcowkid.

Result, Missed.

Well, I met with Addict yesterday at locale [37.797956 -122.407104 @ 16:51 PDT] and made that one hot, so he managed to hop a cab and get the other that followed in eleven minutes.

SF is awesome!

Except for the one location [37.775000, -122.418330]. A dud.

13:14 (4:14 EST) Washington DC HOT
The map coordinates specify the front door of the Building Museum on F street. There is a payphone inside the building, take a left at the front door and walk all the way to the bathrooms, the phone is between the mens room and ladies room. The phone rang on time (loudly), and the axon is hot. Smile

13:53 (4:53 EST) Washington DC FAIL
The map coordinates for this phone put it in the center (or left center) of the smaller open area circle between the two buildings shown below (south of K Street in Georgetown):

The red dots indicate where I've found phones. I waited by the phone on the upper right, but there was no call. A fellow forum member (Jon) was there, and he was checking between the two phones by the fountain, but did not hear anything. We tried calling the phones... they rang but very quietly. With the fountain and crowd noise, it's possible the call was missed. Sad Either that or we haven't found the right phone.

Ft. Lauderdale location (13:59 PDT)

I just got back from visiting the Hollywood (Ft. Lauderdale) location. Yesterday, I missed the window because of the traffic and weather, so I decided to go back again.

Since a group of people had been at the diner last night at the right time, and the phone never rang, I went to the K-Mart next door.

There was only one payphone in that entire store. I was so sure it was going to ring! I tested it, and it accepted incoming calls. Well, the time window came and went, and the phone never rang.

I think that since Four_Goats is "hot", I'll skip going tomorrow. It's a 45 mile round trip in rush hour traffic. If we do discover that we need all of them, then I'll try again.

Yeah is was a dud. I went back to that location this morning to try and figure it out and see if we were missing something. But I think that the coords are wrong. I walked all around that area and I was able to find other payphones in the area but they are at least a block away. I am planning on going back later on tonight when the time gets closer and just scope out one of the spots that was not covered yesterday.

I know that at least Roger D will be there and maybe SYFer. Ceantari you are more than welcome to show up, we probably need all the help we can get.

At the risk of embarassing myself when I screw up, I'm off to the 16:19 in Longmont. I know where the phone is this time, dang it.

I just thought it may be interesting to point out... the phones in NYC don't accept incoming calls. They still rang when we were at the right phone at the right time, though.

That was me Smile

Turns out it wasn't either of the phones by the Casino Arcade.. it was a phone by the entrance to Neptunes Kingdom, between Walkway 2 and some ATMs. [\quote]

thanks James.

that sucks though cause the location on the gps finder online show the point to be to the right of beach and cliff (if you're facing the acrade) which means the coords must be off. sheisty.

ok, some new news on ilb.com

the new news on ilb.com is...

1) the number at the top is now up to 100/777.
2) each of the clusters has the 2/2 at the top near the password.
3) the background changed colors, from green to pinkish.

don't know if this means anything but i thought someone with a little more skill might be able to take this and run with it.
