15:35- Wauwatosa, WI, North and 88th, in front of Chinese restaurant.

I stopped by here again today since it was practically on my way home. I discovered a payphone that was in the entrance/atrium of a chinese restaurant, which we missed. This phone took incoming calls. There was a group of about 20 of us that gathered at the phone at the gas station nearby, but that was a failure yesterday. A milwaukee-journal sentinal guy was there interviewing us, including one member of the UNfiction forums that I didn't get his name.

All that happened was I was standing in the atrium acting like i was looking up a phone number, the phone rang, gave the name operator, and it played escape.wav.. nothing new.. just wanted to contribute an axon. Nobody else was around waiting for a call today.

Good job, 16:19!!!

Heh, thanks man. So, a quick message out to Tim, the fellow from Boulder who came to Longmont yesterday on his motorcycle. The second phone was inside the Woody's restaurant, hidden in its arcade. Real obnoxious, but fun, since all the patrons gave me funny stares while I paced in front of the phone.

I just thought it may be interesting to point out... the phones in NYC don't accept incoming calls. They still rang when we were at the right phone at the right time, though.

Actually, some NYC phones do accept incoming calls, but it's pretty hit-and-miss. Supposedly Verizon blocks incoming calls on most of its phones, but I'm not sure about other providers.

btw, did anyone hit the 13:29 stupid_cop axon near Washington Square in New York today? I work literally across the street and have been out sick since Monday so I haven't dared go, but I'll probably be back at work tomorrow. If the phone hasn't been confirmed not to work, I'll probably check it out, even though the phone (if the GSP is accurate) is Verizon.

Durn! I'm a failure

Igor The Polish Boy and Myself (The Slavic lads who call themself Team Cigarette) trekked about 2 hours to Dale City today. We missed the 8:19 (PDT) phone by 7 minutes. Roadwork, slow drivers, and an accident that closed down all four lanes of our highway slowed us immeasurably. Apparently aliendial saw our defeated procession into a chinese restaruant near our suspected phone for lunch.

We did some scouting, I picked up a GPS unit (I've wanted one since I was in HS, this seemed like a good exucse to buy one) to locate the 13:50 PDT waypoint. The coord was smack dab in the middle of the parking lot for Potomac Mills Mall. There were 5 phones within a resonable distance -- one was in front of the Bannana Republic in front of the mall, one was in front the AMC movie theater, one in front of the Ruby Tuesday. All three accepted incoming calls, only two actually rang. We managed to recon all three phones, when 13:50PDT came around, nothing. We went into chili's for another defeated meal and noticed two phones in the restaruant (20-30 yard away from coordinate) and both rang when incoming calls came. Not sure if those were the phones, but bottom line is we failed to activate either axon today. However, we had a damn blast doing it. Cool

(All the mall phones were outside the outside entrance for the stores mentioned.)

Sorry guys!,
-Ivan

Lemures Ann Arbor

Lemures is a tool. He had no idea what he was doing. If he would of did any research, he wouldnt of screwed the call up. I was at the Ann Arbor phone and there was a guy in the back shouting out the password to him, after he relized the tool on the phone had no idea what he was doing. But he was stuck on saying dizzy.
So anyone who is thinking about joining Lemuresand anyone with him. I suggest not to.

Got the 16:23 pillow. Took my 4yr old and my 2yr old for pizza at the Pizza Hut (my night with the kids while my wife helps our best friends pack for their move this weekend), got a table by the phone, explained to the waitress what was going on (as she was the one that got the "I don't know you" message the night before), welcomed my 3 fellow bee-keepers (2 of them fellow HALOIDers), and snagged the phone when it rang - right on time!

Finally! I have been to the 11:53 eyes sight twice now (the payphone-directory has the wrong # for this one) and this 16:23 pillow once the night before (when we discovered it was in the Pizza Hut ~300 ft away from the phone that matched the GPS coordinates almost perfectly). 1 success for 4 tries aint that bad, I guess Smile

I'll keep trying to figure out where the phone# from the 11:53 eyes is actually ringing at.

Alas we are forsaken. I was at a phone on Mission St. with Ranger D and another guy (and Addict joined in by cell phone) and no ringee dingee did we hear.

Yesterday, Ranger and I covered the phones on Market street to no avail, so we were sure that this other phone would pan out.

This is particularly vexing because all of us have now extensively surveyed and reconnoitered the entire area and can say:

1. There are NO other phones in the vicinity.

2. There is no evidence of missing, removed or inaccessible phones.

3. Any other potential phones would be located much further away.

4. We explored "indoor" options and there aren't even any ambiguous possibilities (that I can see anyway).

Addict looked around extensively this morning then me and my friend scoured the area for about 40 minutes today prior to the appointed time.

I believe that either there is a GPS error here or the site is a red herring. Could it be that this is why why have yet to see ANY 7-site group completed?

At this point, I'm standing down and will see what happens before revisiting.

I hope everyone else has had better luck than me. Where are all the Seattle people?

I can't cut out of work this week, but if there are any daytime seattle axons still dead on saturday, I'll head downtown and see if I can find any of them. The 17:55 axon... I don't know. I didn't realize anyone had actually gotten _into_ the church that my gps indicated [the two side doors were locked when this one guy tried them].

If I can come up with any more ideas re: where the crap that axon might be, I'll head down after work again. But right now I'm pretty dry. Did you [or anyone else reading this] try that one again today?

I stopped by again today with someone else and, despite looking at an aerial of the coords, we still couldn't find a phone close enough to feel comfortable with staking out. There's one about three blocks away, but other than that, where the coords point is an apartment building. It's rather strange, how close all of them are.

I don't have a job right now, so I'm free to run around all day tracking these places down. It's just that I need more people to cover multiple phones. :\

Just a bit of advice.. if the phone is missing, not accepting incoming calls, or not ringing.. there's probably another in the area that is ringing. Don't be afraid to try looking inside businesses or anything, just don't get arrested. I was surprised to find my working phone in the atrium/entranceway of a chinese restaurant.. no way you'd see that from outside.

SYFer said it all right...

17:11 location in SF was a bust; we were SURE we had the found the phone. We called it, it rang, but it didn't ring at the allotted time. After SYFer and I departed, I went back phones I was guarding on the 24th and called them. Both did not accept incomming calls. I'm gonna try calling the set SYFer was guarding (further away from the GPS location) tomorrow morning, but as of now, I'm out of options. Does anyone in the SF area have an actual GPS device? I'm planning to be infront of A pay phone tomorrow, just don't know where yet Smile (This will be day 3 of me ducking out of work to get this #*$% axon hot, but it should be worth it)

The 16:23 pillow was located in Phoenix, AZ in a bar and was HOT yesterday. I was there. Are you sure of the cordinates ?
