Come on Dizzy!

Damn, it looks like the 1st two Dizzy Axons have gone by and are still cold. I really hope we at least get all 30 groups live today.

All Axons must be hot?

I retruned to the my blip location this morning (second one that went hot) and got it right this time. What I am wondering is if we need all of the Axons to go hot. It makes sense to me (due to the 777 counter), but it may take a while to get some of the stragglers. There are two more in my city and they are near by, but the time is the issue. Their sound files have been unlocked, so that is not an issue. I might be able to get them this weekend.

Activated the St. Louis axon for "hey_soldier". Just something interesting about a couple of the st. louis locations. One was in a best buy, black and yellow logo, and another was right next to an applebee's.

It seems like there's a three-time limit on how many times you can have her repeat the .wav file.

I'm not sure... I on one session I was at, we got to listen to it 5 or 6 times before while at another, and at every other one I was at there were only 2 of us there so we only needed to listen to it 2-3 times. I would hazard a guess that the amount of time the .wav file plays for limits how many times it can be repeated. If you look at it, there is 3 minutes between each call, so if the file is 30 seconds you could listen to it for 5 times, maybe, including the time alotted for the intro and identification. The files vary in size from hey_soldier at 23 seconds to message_saved at 1 minute, 7 seconds.

Revisiting

I checked most of the forum, forgive me if I missed something.

Has anyone gone back to a location that was already hot just to see what would happen? Melissa said she'd call back daily to confirm connections with her crew (which I think is for the cold phones) but I think it would be nice to check the hot ones in case there is more information we can receive to make the 777 mark (should we be supposed to reach it).

You_knew is hot. It seems to go between Law_abiding and Emergency.

Dad "takes care of it" by burning down the police station? Nice.

Have you noticed?

This may be old news, if so I apologize, but there is not enough axons posted to equal the 777 on the status bar. Possibly more to come?

beer, escape, and hi_aiden each have only two unconnected axons.

Can we nail one of these three today, to see if anything happens when we complete a set of 7?

Hollywood, FL (four_goats)

Is anyone going back to the Hollywood, FL, location today? I was the one whose GPS unit led to the middle of a softball field yesterday, but I can't make it back today. That was a good hour long drive in rush hour for me. If nobody goes, I might be able to make it tomorrow though and look for a different phone.

Anyone headed back to the San Diego Zoo today? Can anyone bring a GPS unit so that we can confirm our location? Did anyone cover the bank of phones down at the Vet's Center? Is it worth trying for?

Beat me to posting it. I just thought of it myself... maybe after a certain amount of time, a new set of calls, files, and coordinates will be put out...

you know, I can't wait until all but one axon is complete. Someone should stir up a huge media frenzy for that last payphone, take auditions and votes for who will be the lucky one to answer the phone, all of that... I can just see it - the street swarming with geeks and cops in riot gear just to make sure nothing goes wrong during the celebratory partying (if the guy is smart enough to answer correctly)... Very Happy

Melissa said she'd call back daily to confirm connections with her crew

When did she say this??

(Sorry, I've been out of the loop recently, darn university...)

Yeh.. I remember last night when I was sitting, waiting for Emergency to lock in and it looked like we had failed until the LAST axon went hot... Smile

I'm sort of skeptical about the whole - "do we have to answer all the phones" /or/ "do we just need all the sound bytes problem."

It would seem to me like we need all 777, which would drag this portion out longer - possibly for a week or two. Halo 2 didn't come out early and Frankie has stated that it won't - I guess (IF Bungie is behind ILB) they would want to drag it out as long as possible to keep the hype going. Even if Bungie isn't the PM, who wants a major part of an ARG to end so quickly!

Jeez, it's all so complicated... :p bah, this is why I shall never be a true ARGer.[/quote]
