surgury is an event extrnal to natural change. if you put metal into a dudes body, and he gets a girl pregnant, the kind wont have that same metal.
No, but if the same process happened over generations, then the space for the metal might be there, or whatever the metal did (if anything) would be done because the evoulotionary process is use to it.

No, actually, it won't. Reproduction is based on GENES, not on the actual body of a person. Unless you actually change genetic structure of the reproductive cells in a person, NOTHING that happens in a person's life will be physically passed on to their offspring. Think about it. Have you ever met someone who lost a limb in an accident or the war? Were there kids in any way missing the same limb?

So, this could work both ways on the theory of James being Jan's father. (I haven't read the books, someone chime in here). Even if he were enhanced, it would have to be genetic enhancements that affected his gametes for them to be passed on at all. But then, if they are such enhancements, they would indeed be passed on.

Right, and everyone knows Chimapzees and Orangutangs are horrible at climbing trees.... Fact is that a tail become a liability the moment size increases to a point where the weight of the animal placing too much strain on the appendage. Tails are not designed to take that much weight, they might have adapted to do so, expect that small branches that tails help to grab hold of are also not too well designed for larger weights and, unlike the tail, trees are not something the larger species of apes could 'evolve' to support them. Use it or lose it. Using it would have become increasingly more dangerous, this over time the size and thus the ability to use it as all would have been lost.

I personally don't think there's credence here, as the present is seperated from this presumed future by, what's the time-distance to the Haloverse, 2 or 3 centuries?

It means they saved money by using the same voice actress. That's all.

Im not even going into the whole haloverse thing here. I'm talking about the original voice recording from "DANA" and the new recording of the "JAN". the voices are identical in every way. even acording to my computer

we never actully lost the tail. we still have the bones for it, they are just internal now in most cases. we didn't need it as much because we gained the much better ability to walk and run.
the argument for hair is actully sexual selection. expample, less hairy females were found mroe attractive adn reproduced MORE creating less hairy offpspring.

technology can effect the who is more suitable to reproduce but does not change the genes.

anyway I just though of this... if jan was the MC's daughter, they would prolly enhance her too becasue she came from a successful project. I woulnd't be surprised if they started a breeding program and enhanced the resulting offspring. would cut down on trying to find appropriate children.

I have no clue about anything about halo, btw, I;m just an anthropologist with a taste for games.

fast!

Man, a guy just can't keep up with a thread like this today
By the time i have something to post, I refresh and someone's posted it already.
I seen it a few times, but I think we need to get working on timelines and connections.
The good news is that the Wiki is working, it's lightweight, but it works.

One piece of info related to Melissa (from old ILB Fun Stuff page).

I'm thinking "the Castaway" is Jersey's Father. Any takers?
1) He's deploying buoys in deep space - Jason Merelli (father) is "radio beacon deployment" (from jersey.wav)

2) Castaway is Married - So is Jason Merelli

3) Jass and Swing playing in the castaway's room - Jersey Merelli has the same stuff playing in his room in jersey.wav

Now, what does it connect with?

God knows I don't want to trout anyone because this thread is so unwieldy that finding anything in it is impossible, but this came up as soon as jersev.wav was released. The line about radio deployment seemed like an obvious connection. The jazz connection was made as well. But still, it was a good thought. (I noticed the radio deployment stuff right off, but not the jazz ....)

As for the larger connection, I currently have no Idea ...

Right, and I'm saying it's purely coincidence...

Dana isn't going to live 550 years and still sound (let alone look) H0tz0rs...

It's just a Meta thing: budget.

once again. I'm not sure, but I used the sound/wav analiyzer and it came up with: "dana" voice and the new "jans" voice are the same person. nothing about a character.

i dont know, my step-mom and my dad are both hairy as apes. its like thats what drew them together, so if being hairy was the norm, then less hair would make that person not fit in. i think its because we didnt need hair because of the evolution of hovels into shantys and then full on living spaces.

by the way, my little half brother is already just as hairy as they are, its scary.
