Thank you Coldforged, for heating up you_knew.
Wink Only one that showed up, which surprised me. Got the "nickname" prompt on that call, by the way. Not like it matters much... looks like someone got an earlier you_knew axon, but I guess it doesn't hurt either. I wonder if something different happens if we get all axons possible in this round.

surgury is an event extrnal to natural change. if you put metal into a dudes body, and he gets a girl pregnant, the kind wont have that same metal.

If someone were to cut-off thier left hand, that person (let's call him "Person A") would have to live to learn with it, and would be imprintied into a evoultionary memory of sorts (it's the same if you break a bone). If Person A were to have a child ("Person B"), and thier left hand was cut-off they would be able to deal with it better because Person B's genetics are different to Person A's because of evoulotion. Now if this were to happen for, say, five generations, the genetics would be so adapted to not having a left hand, the sixth generation ("Person C") might not have a left hand, or a less developed left hand.

This is demorstrated by losing of our tails, and our all over bodily hair.

If someone was to be surgicaly enhanced, and then that persons offspring, and that persons offspring, and that persons offspring, and that persons offspring might already have the surgical enhancements because of evoulotion.

Well that was very mixed so i hope you got the idea.

This is likely offtopic, but no, that's wrong. The fundamentals of evolution are a) lots and lots of time, and b) survival of the fittest. Unless not having a left hand causes you to become more fit for survival, the chances of your genes propagating drop, and thus, the trait dies out given enough time. Specific members of a species don't create new evolutionary traits by adapting to their circumstances; rather, certain traits emerge because they make that particular specimen more fit for survival, and they outlive their competitors, which leads to the eventual propagation of the gene throughout the species, given that the advantage is "strong" enough.

Regardless, one generation would not be enough for any sort of evolved trait to show up, so the point is moot.

True.

How that process works is those that have the ability to survive with the metal would whilst those that dont have the ability will die. This means that the following species will have the ability to survive with the metal implants, it wouldnt give them the metal implants unless you kept repeating this process of eliminating those who did not have the best accomodating features or closest resemblance to it.

Was your daughter/sister/mother born with ear piercings? How many generations in your family has had ear peircings? So drop that already.

I don't think a penis is made of bone.

well, i do agree that its not really relavent, but thats not entirely true what you said. there was a species of fish that were known to have sight, but a group that lived and repopulated in a cave somewhere ( i forget where ) after a long time started to be born blind because they didnt need sight in the dark cave. its not survival, its just that their eyes were never used, and this passed genetically. but yeah, somebody losing a hand is different. maybe if they were born without a hand it would matter.
