*Important* Information on axons seemingly without payphones

This has been mentioned before, but everyone needs to know this so that we can activate the remaining axons. Many of us near cold axons have experienced the same thing... no ringing phones, or worse, no phones whatsoever. This is because the PMs looked up the address of a payphone and got the wrong coordinates!!

How to get the right address for your axon:
1) Find the addresses of all payphones in your axon's area using http://payphone-directory.org.
2) For each address, lookup the coordinates using Geocode.com Test Drive Page.
3) If the right phone is listed, you should get an exact match with the ILB axon coordinates.

edit - another source: http://www.payphone-project.com/numbers/usamap.html

The important thing to remember is that the correct phone is at the given address, but thanks to the poor accuracy of the Geocode database (which the PMs used), if you lookup the GPS coordinates using Mapquest or Terraserver, you may end up looking at a completely different part of town!

I tried this out for the two cold axons under Law_Abiding and got:
16:47 PDT 2999 El Camino Real, Palo Alto, CA - outside Pizza Hut (different part of town than GPS coordinates indicate)
16:55 PDT 12 N Grayson, Blanding, UT - outside Blanding Visitor Center (same as GPS coords.. but hey, we got the address now)

The key thing here is that the people (such as in Palo Alto) have been looking in completely the wrong place.

Could everyone double check the addresses of the cold axons near them, and post the corrected addresses as a follow-up?

edit: SphEddy asked that this note be added:

Sometimes, the address-to-GPS lookup fails, and returns the center of town as a best guess. The PMs mistakenly gave us some center of town coordinates. For instance, the PMs mistakenly gave us the GPS coordinate of the center of Palo Alto. "2999 El Camino, Palo Alto, CA" returns the same coordinate, but a GPS-to-address lookup will show you that this is wrong. When this happens, we can't find which payphone address the PMs used to get this bad GPS coordinate.

Location: Far Far Away. Nowhere Near You. Really.

EXCEPT: This methodology was NOT used for all of them; consider it one more tool in our arsenal to try to figure out the axons.
