She did however, give them sufficient eveidence with which to keep her in their wn jurisdiction though (like being able to get through a coded door [see: "pillow.wav"]). And, usingour current government set-up as reference, the fact that her father was SSF (military!) would only give them more reason to keep her in a military facility, as being in the immediate family of military (perhaps, ex-military) personnel would make her case a little special to them.

Apparently, this just becam redundant.

This can't be, unless government arrangement in the time of the story (which still has yet to be established) is drastically different from the one we are subjected to today.

Jan infiltrated and was caught at a military base, and she was then picked up by Military police. Military police operate on military bases and have their own stations on said bases.
The fire takes place at Harris (it sounds more like Harris than Paris to me)23 Police Station, Bergen County.

I know this would throw continuity out the window, but this "emergency" really seems to be sitting outside any of the other established timelines that we've seen so far.


Actually, the "stupid cop" says that "they" brought Jan to him becuase they had a lab at his location. She ended up at the police station because the MP's didn't have the necessary equipment to perform the PQI.

Edit - Doh! Beaten to the punch, rendering my first post useless. I'll have to tuck my vestigial tail between my legs and leave...

 		they are using computers far advanced, so the termnology will be a bit different, think back 20 years ago to the apple ][e and the terminology from back then. wow i just showed my age.

If we where arguing about teh WORD ghosting, then you would be right. But we are arguing about what the work MEANS. The 'best' way to do this is to relate it to this that we KNOW the meaning of.
There is a BIG difference between making a copy of someones brain and making an AI (as some suggested) and mearly hacking an open mic.

 		it is MY opinion, ***SPEC ALERT*** that maybe, just maybe, they are calling it ghosting, cause they are follwing someone electronically like they are a ghost, or maybe because they are electronicly "haunting them" maybe they are calling it ghosting because in that sense it MAKES SENSE, or maybe, just MAYBE because it sounds semi-cool. that is what i think. sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

 		they have made NO refferences to copying a brain or an ai or ANYTHING here. however they have mentioned ghosting, and they show us what it is. they haven't connected ghosting to anything else.

I thought that was the most obvious and sensible explanation.

For instance, to "ghost" somebody sometime means to kill them (i.e.- Turn them into a ghost).

But thats obviously not the case here, its just a form of electronic haunting, you are somebody's ghost. They could've easily called it "shadowing".

That is my point. We needed to clearify if this was the case. AS I siad before there are those who where (at least) saying that it was MORE then just that. Again we are not debating the use of the WORD only it's meaning.

On to more relevent (possibly) items

Two things:

I still have a hard time buying (at this point with this data) that Durga is the source of the Kemal data. There is just no connection to it (if there is please point it out).
I am still holding out some resistance to the idea that Durga is even the source of the Jan data. Based on the timing of the blackout it would be hard to squeeze in a live feed of Jan's discovery on the base (just after the blackout) with the time to boot up (wake) Durga and interact with Jersey. I still have seen no evidence that Durga has access to live data (like Kemal) as all the data in the WAV files is archived data mining.

The other thing is I feel that there is a major omission in Jan's 'father's' cleanup operation. Sure this will destroy the physical evidence of Jan's tests and PQI, but it does not deal with all the people that saw her there (most specifically the interrogator) or with all the data that happened on the base.

Guest Again, I think someone has already put together some divided storylines. I guess I'm just behind the curve again, oh well Rolling Eyes

[SPEC] has anybody asked if maybe the Janassary comes right after the Jersey/Durga sequence, as Durga's way of proving to Jersey that she "can do more than that"? The jump in narrative makes sense then, but I'm still trying to figure out about the other plotline. maybe to show us that ghosting is possible....

Well, since it's about 3:30 AM here, I think I'm calling it a night, I'll check to see how deeply this has been buried in the morning/early afternoon.

This makes sense, and fits well with Mr. James' assertion that he will "[T]ake care of it," and that the emergency center receptionist would not be able to detect a fire at that location

 		Something that I have not yet been able to quite figure out, (maybe I just haven't listened to one of the wavs) Where do we get the name Kamal from? People refer to Jersey as Kamal and vice versa.

EDIT- Never mind, I see that it is from the answering machine.
