i know this is a stupid question but,
if walkaway girl.wav say 12:20 pdt, what time would that be in florida?

3 more hours, so 3:20. they are pacific time, we're eastern, so everything is 3 more hours, and if its over 12, subtract 12, because its military time. so like, it would be 15:20, which is 3:20 eastern.

I think the PMs managed to kill the game. They should have made something happen after we unlocked all the wavs. They could have at least sent an e-mail from Melissa somethink like "ok, now u know all i know. now u have to help me repair the damage..." - which would lead to the second phase of the game. But they didn't. This is pretty stupid, cause they aren't telling us what to do now.

I just can't agree with this. Saying "They should have" and "They aren't telling us" won't get us anywhere. Perhaps it's something we should've done, that we haven't yet. We need to explore every possibility before getting angry at the people that have given us this great game, especially since we aren't paying a cent for it. Someone mentioned in the Axon Discussion thread that we should try *69 at the payphones after the axon calls, try to call Melissa back. Maybe that's what she's waiting for. Or maybe she's waiting for all the axons to go hot, since she seems to be trying to spread herself as far as possible(probably trout, but that sounds a bit like rampancy to me...)

It's only been two days since the 24th, and we haven't even heated up all the axons yet. Patience is an important part of ARGs, you know.

Holy cow... ok, I don't think an ARG old-timer has posted in here for like 50 pages... sheesh... I just scrolled through 10-15 pages of the same 6 or 7 people arguing over the smallest things... when can this thread close and a new one begin so it can attract people back who don't want to join a 100+ page thread?

First of all - that background issue, check the history of the ARG. Phase 1-3 all dealt with hidden ASCII text within the jpg files. save each background to your computer and open them open in notepad or a hex editor - you'll find small snippets of text. These have already been entirely catalogued and put into monologues of characters from phases 1-3 - Melissa, the Spider, the Sleeping Princess and the Flea. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then do some research on this ARG< then come back and post in here.

As for emergency -
Quote:
We are saying the same things over and over.

1) We know James (Jan's Dad) started the fire in emergency.wav. We've known for a while now.
2) emergency.wav comes after you_knew.wav, whether you like it or not.

If you're going to play an ARG, don't quote speculation as fact and enforce it.
1: we don't know James started the fire. The last line of his he says "I'll take care of it", and that can mean anything. And considering there's an act closing wind down, there's a good chance it can mean anything.
2: Again, since you_knew ends with an act closing wind down, and emergency begins with an act opening wind up (which is arguable), these two segments do not in fact fit together 'whether we like it or not'.

And before someone goes raving about the winding sounds not having anything to do with the chronlogy, yes they do. They clearly, unarguably, mark the beginnings and ends of scenes, and there are 2 distinct types - long and short. The long windings all are accepted to appear at the beginning and ending segments of acts, and the short windings all are accepted, even just based on dialogue, to appear at the beginning and end of scene segments (or a long winding if the scene is the first or last of the act).

Anyone arguing with this needs to learn more about common sense and deductive reasoning.

As for the positioning of emergency - the only question now is whether or not it appears after Durga. Why? Because for some reason Durga ends with a scene closer, but nothing clearly follows it. Emergency begins with a sound that is arguably a scene opener (personally I feel that it's an act opener with a bit of overlap of background scene sounds that make it seem shorter like a scene opener), but for argument's sake, I'm considering it a scene opener here. So we're left with an open ended Durga scene, and an unopened emergency scene. The question is simply, does emergency follow Durga, or is Emergency its own Act, and thus at this moment, placement unknown?

There have been two requests to take spec of the axon files to the General forums, you know.

Also, there are plenty of new peeps here that are quite fabulous!

i think u're right, but still... this is pretty frustrating Smile

i just rechecked the website... melissa said:
Quote:
By broadcasting the voices to my crew, they will be able to assess the damage. Once assessed, the damage can be repaired.

so... ehm... how's the damage looking like? I think she's pretty fkd up. Very Happy how's calling and telling her?

seriously, i have no clue what to do. Confused

As I recall, it only works if you've missed the call - and, as you're using a payphone, you'd likely have to insert coins to continue (to quite many an arcade game).

I think it's safe to assume that Emergency happens after You_knew, since it is a police station burning down, and the cop calling it in sounds a lot like the detective that was interrogating Jan. It would be rather difficult for him to interrogate her in a burned-down police station, wouldn't it?
