Ohhh so thats where the Red's portal brought him....that makes sense....btw Jersey soooo does not sound like Billy West a.k.a. Fry...ok maybe he does but im sure its not. But if it is maybe we'll get an AI that sounds like Bender....

Why do I think we're going to hit a total of 77 axons with 7 soundclips left unlocked? Razz

Just a note: we've passed 70/210. That means that in one day, the people of this ARG managed to get themselves to a third of the sites arbitrarily chosen (and constantly shifted). I think that deserves a big round of applause for everyone involved. And think: Including Dizzy, and assuming everything goes well with Emergency, we're only 9/60 axons short of getting every single WAV. I am quite impressed. Makes me wonder what the people down at Bungie think of our progress.
They think we're lazy for not getting them all. Laughing

Work for anyone else? Makes sense that the 'Our Hoodlums' date is the one arranged by the guy's mother and the girl's mother, since the girl brings her mum up (like she has a boyfriend but her mum didn't know that!).

I like it! Makes complete and total sense for me. At least in terms of the Aiden date coming after the Parasite date. Well done!

I don't think Kamal was hacking into their brains per se, more like into some chip...sort of a build-in mobile phone people have in this reality. If it was simply their brain he would have been able to continue to track Aiden when he was in his room, but he says that Aiden's "offline" in Tuna.wav.

I said it before, I'll say it again. There is no "brain hacking" in the Halo universe (granted it's not confirmed if this is that universe or not) They have little chips, but that was only to fly the Pillar of Autum. Cortana was able to dig up sooo much dirt on people in the books, without hacking their brains.

My thoughts exactly. And it's strange, this story doesn't seem to relate directly to Halo, but something of a Sub-story, or background story.

True, its kind of relevant in its background but a different story.

Of course, we cant really know if it isnt really a main story line until we play the game, phfor all we know it might be a prelude to or allude to somes'pht which we're not entirely aware of.

Bungie have had a habit of giving out precursory info with nothing to do with the main plot at all.

I think it was closer to that than something just in his room or whatever. From the looks of it, "ghosting" takes everything a person hears/says. When he went to ghost the girl he's with, he was even commenting on her encryption. Similarly, Jersey told Durga not to look up an admiral because of their "packet guards" (as in data packets). I think that's what this future is like, brain waves are data.

So being able to "broadcast" someone's voice to Aiden, his date, or them both, would be right along the lines of ghosting, just in the opposite direction. From there, putting the voice in a specific place would be as simple as telling their minds that that's where it's coming from.

It may not be "brain hacking", but ghosting sounds like it's more than just listening to a chip someone carries with them.

Threads

OK, some disagreement on the Covenant/Flood postulation -- but this is brainstorming people.

So we have three threads
--Durga in Jersey's computer
--Jan and "Dad"
--Blind Dates, Infidelity, etc

Is there any concrete proof these are happening at the same time -- could these be temporally separated by months/years?

Could Jan be the "body" for Durga?

Speculation.

I'd also like to thank Dorkmaster for taking over the spreadsheet and coordinating all this as best he could. I'm not sure how much it helped, but I think it probably helped a lot.

Here's a theory about the common elements:

Melissa (the operator) once got into Jersey's system in a situation similar to our current ILB situation. She says "Survive, Evade, Resist, Escape"--this is not the version edited by the Pious Flea, so. It's in the past, or our future, depending on how you want to look at it.

When he asks her to learn about himself, she discovers his mother is a waitress who sees this guy Simon every other Tuesday. In a hotel. I suspect it's the same hotel that Aiden's dinner date is taking place in, and happens to pick up on the guy who's spying on them for Aiden's girlfriend. At least, that's how I'm guessing she picks up on all this--locked files may prove me wrong.

Finally, when Jersey wants to know about Jan, M picks up the interrogation, etc.

Thoughts?[/spoiler]
