Re: James James = retired Spartan?

Dad teaches her at least some about their delicate situation, and how to foil things like a lie detector test. She grows up as a superhuman beauty, goes to high school with other kids, and learns that she can take wild risks without consequence. One of her exploits gets her caught and hauled into the police. She defeats the lie detector test, but Dad burns the police department down (slowly, so nobody gets hurt) just to be safe. [/wild spec]

They weren't genetic alterations as much as they were artificial implants. I dont think they would really be inheirited.

Actually...

The .wav files (at least some of them) weren't recorded on Coral... when discussing their moms on Coral, the woman says "I'm never going back".

So if not Coral, perhaps, Troy?

Nice Spec except for the master chief's personality, he would never stop serving, that's his only goal in life to server the military, even in his 50's (if still alive) He'd serve, he knows the only way he'd die is in combat.

Few things =

I don't see much evidence that Operator is Durandal. If Halo takes place in the middle of the Marathon series, Durandal is currently on the Marathon, refusing to talk to Tycho after he calls him too sarcastic. He's currently at the first stage of Rampancy at that time, meaning he's depressed. The Operator is closer to Stage 2 Rampancy than Stage 1.

If Halo takes place after the Marathon universe, then it also can't be Durandal.

Third Marathon Game Spoilers:

Quote:

Basically, Durandal merges with an ancient AI. Through this merging, he gets a xen-like quality, and 'dies' in the closure. He realized it was not right to escape.

Quote:

Chief Mendez states he is leaving to train a new group of Spartans (in the year 2525). Perhaps I'm going too far with this speculation, but Jan could be one of these subsequent Spartan trainees, planted on Earth as a secret defense of some kind, an ace in the hole.

This could make sense, and also tie into Marathon. 10 Mjolnir Mk IV Cyborgs were brought aboard the Marathon in secret, to defend the Tau Ceti colony against any attacks, and did save the colony from the first Pfhor invasion.

no, i still think its because she's afraid of getting into trouble by him, like she said in the first place. i know when i used to be in school and my parents would get called in, my heart would jump when they walked in the door.

[SPEC] Something tickled my brain

I read through the halo.bungie.org story page a couple weeks ago and today's conversations tickled something in my brain.

http://halosm.bungie.org/story/newssearch.html?newsitem=588

and

http://halosm.bungie.org/story/newssearch.html?newsitem=593

With the dad being James James, a SPECIAL special ops person that is a grey hole, with a fake electronic history. A daughter that exhibits SPARTAN like physical ability. Could the daughter be tied into Kelly (spartan that was kept in suspension due to DNA alterations outside the norm) somehow and James is her 'parent' on earth, smuggled in by Aiden?
