i almost thought i heard help me at the end, but that could be just because you said it, so i was thinking help me, and the sound just sounds like that.

I tried reversing it, inverting it, slowing it down, lowering and raising pitches, alll kinds of stuff, and i couldn't get much. It almost sounds like a voice when i reversed it a few seconds into it, but when you really slow it down i think it's just noise.

Yeah, the AXON ERROR is [37.775000 -122.418330].

We had 10 to 12 of us steaking out that site. Everyone was at every possible public payphone. There was one payphone that claimed it didn't receive any incoming calls; it lied. We did call it. But it also wasn't the "designated" one. There were about five locations within the vicinity of payphones. None went off at 17:11 PST.

Sad.

Ok, I think I'm on to something. Blip, Dizzy, and Parasites all begin with some sort of electrical oddity. Jersey's computer restarting, the base going on red alert and the guy on a date's cerano cutting out. Using this, I combined all three of these files into one since it would seem these events happened simulaniously.

The beginning tape sound seems to have speech in it. its very processed and hard to make out but I swear its saying "help me." I am hesitant to post the file though since after listening to it for an hour it could sound like the Gettysburg Address if I really wanted it to. So I give you the original mixed wave of the tape sound. Maybe one of you audio gurus can pull out the voice.

I've been interested in hearing all three of the "long windup" files mixed together for a while now, so I pulled out my old program and mixed them all in full. The result is interesting, but as far as I can tell, nothing more than interesting. Give it a listen and see if maybe you can pull something out of it that I'm missing. More than likely it's a dead end though.

Well, maybe we should make a list of all the Axons that didn't work, and post it in a bunch of places that the PM's can see, so that we can keep this game a rollin'! People will lose interest if they have to keep going back and looking for a ringing phone.

Well this doens't exactly have anything to do with any of the axons and I am not sure whether or not this is already posted somewhere but i just stumbled across DANA's phone number and i called it and immediatly reached her voicemail box and her message was as follows
Hi,
This is Dana, i'm going away, far away, and for a long time, leave a message, although i dont know when i'll get it. Mom I know you are callling just to hear the sound of my voice; I love you too.

That is then followed by a few words that she says which I can't make out. I believe it is another language. So some translation help would be nice. After that a "machine" says
This mailbox is currently full, please try again later. Goodbye

Ok here is the phone number for anyone who is willing to call it to see if they can somehow translate what she says at the end. 1-415-248-2617

Hi 1360145, thanks for your detective work, but unfortunately this has been covered a long time ago. Search for dana + mandarin for discussion on the Mandarin phrase she uses. She left the message several weeks ago when she left for China, I'm afraid.

On NetNinja Bee Wiki, they got the translation to Dana's voicemail.

By the way, if anybody hasn't seen this yet..

http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6044&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

We have four new axons to try to activate. They're hidden on the recipe3.html page, and only have one location for each. If anybody's near them, let's try to get them hot. Very Happy

receipt and goodbye are both HOT!!!

They can be found here : http://www.ilovebees.com/recipe3.html

It seems this is an entirely new Act and receipt definitely comes right before goodbye.

Are there a total of 32 .wav files now?

I've plugged them together seamlessly - they're definitely in sequence here.

I'll update my page the moment I have another 'complete' story.

I suspect this new thread goes before Jersey.

Several times in her monologues Melissa mentions "The Apocalypse." I suspect that she means the Apocalypso, the naval ship mentioned in Goodbye.

Here are her references to it.

Quote:
I am looking for the truth.

I saw it once, before the Apocalypse.

Quote:
(pertaining to SPDR's rampage of memory deletion) Perhaps it was injured in the Apocalypse.

I suspect that The Apocalypse was a horrible accident related to her ship, Apocalypso. I'll come back when I satisfy some other nagging suspicions.

EDIT: Here we go, more memories.

Quote:
It was adrift in space: a squat cylinder of dull gray metal, about the size of a suitcase. Not pure osmium all the way through - it was too dense for that - but osmium was the only firm echo the sensors returned. We cast a net and reeled it in.

It sat in the airlock, inert and cold. Three kelvin interstellar background, no electrical or chemical activity. Very faint magnetic fields in complex tracery. Not an object, then. A device.

OK, cameras deployed and scanning every square centimeter, damn it. The thing was covered in geometric shapes, not embossed but expressed somehow in the grain of the metal. Bars and triangles, dots, ordered but non-repeating patterns. A message, yes, running around the rim like the tread on a tire. I thought: whatever that's telling us, it's something we want to know. Extremely hazardous. Safety glasses required. If found, please return to sender.

Set in the center of the top face was a square, a suggestion of seam no bigger than the palm of a hand. I imagined it sinking back and sliding to one side, a Japanese door offering access to whatever was in there. Or not. Or blowing up if you tried it.

Is it Covenant? 1st Lt Sorenson said. He was the one inside with it; suited, curious but cautious.

Capt. Greene looked thoughtful. It isn't us. Melissa?

I said, I don't know. If it is, it's new.

Rolf leaned over to touch it.

Capt Greene said, Don't. Let's not try anything yet.

Bars and triangle, dots and squares. A little like Braille, a little like cuneiform. Felt the old familiar hunger: new language like a new cuisine - delicacies of thought and nuance for me to dig into.

Sorenson said, its got to go in the hold, Captain. It can't stay here. Bring in a dollybot if you like, but something's going to have to touch it. We have to warm it up, too.

Greene didn't like that, but what could we do?

The cylinder with strange, unknown markings (Forerunner language?) found by the Apocalypso.

Quote:
I ran another diagnostic. Came back fine, again. Nothing wrong, just a stutter of lag once in a while.

Didnt feel right to me.

That feeling that everything is still in the room, nothing's been stolen, but things arent exactly where you left them.

Captain Greene, I said. Things arent quite right.

She waited for me to explain.

I have the sense that things are being... moved around.

Like a virus? she asked.

I shook my head no, I didnt feel sick.

Then nodded, yes. An intruder, something inhabiting the system.

What do you think, Melissa?

I might be compromised, I said to her.

I still want to know what you think. When could it have been introduced?

The Covenant transmission?

Maybe they suspect were monitoring them.

A virus piggybacking, she said. Could they do that? Their systems are so much different than ours.

Weve reversed engineered their systems, I said. And they have clearly reverse engineered some of ours.

Have you done anything out of character, she asked.

Not yet, I said. I hoped it was true.

Possible infection after examining the cylinder.

I got that off the netninja blog--they assembled the bits of text into the complete monologues.
