Heh, oops, I didn't see your reply above. Yea, I was the guy who, um, recorded it and then went straight home to post about how disappointing it was. Wink

Anyway, glad to see you found the site! Very Happy Did your friends try to go back this morning? I thought later to suggest maybe they try to put money in the phone before they answered it or something, but neglected to get any contact info for any of ya.

I can ask if my friends tried later. The money thing seems like a good idea.

Yeah, I knew of the site before you mentioned it, I just hadn't signed up at the time. But i wanted to discuss stuff, so I signed up.

My e-mail is ThunderRazor AT gmail dot com if you ever want to use that.

in response to thefallen555's brief, but succinct point: Can anyone upload the file for download of the TechTV video for those of us having a hard time streaming the file? I know it's probably large, but I'll take the lo-res version if I have to!

Thanks HitsHerMark! It's working great! Now I have something I can show my wife to explain this game's "legitimacy", and why I may be a dork, but I'm not by myself in that... (Don't know if you wanted to help with that or not, but thanks! Laughing )

report stuff

Just a story for the 10:53PDT "freelance" axon today...

We didn't go hot, so it wasn't that great.... actually it was kind of frustruating, but I met Extrasonic and two "unnamed" lurkers. (Hiya!) I took a couple pics, but I'm at work, and don't have internet at home currently Cursing , so I'll have those up soon (they turned out pretty good, though!)...

in fact, the only highlight was me ALMOST (and I mean by the skin of my teeth) getting a ticket for parking in a "sticker parking only" spot at the train station (that I went the wrong-way into a one-way street to get into, mind you. Yeah, the cop caught that too.) Fortunately he didn't poke his head into my car window, cuz I had black and white aerial photos, mapquest maps and a page of quickly scribbled notes sitting on the passenger seat! I would have been sent to Guantanamo Bay for sure!

anway, I'll post pics soon. Have a good one all! Don't give up hope!!!

Woo....ok. I got two: The 6:47 New Augusta (A repeat axon...the one I tried before that Hebel2k ended up getting), and the 8:49 West Lafayette axon.

New Augusta wasn't too hard. At 6:40, a man walked in and picked up the phone and made a call. I was starting to sweat a bit. I figured I'd go over n ask him to get off politely at 6:45. But, he left at about 6:43. I stood next to it and at 6:45, a man came buy wanting to clean the phone. I told him I was expecting a call and it would just be a bit. He was nice about it.
GOT IT! Tried recording it, but the recorder volume wasn't up...couldn't hear anything. That's alright, it's live now...I was the 3rd.

Then, the 59 mile drive to West Lafayette. Ya know, I used to like Purdue University...they have a nice 4th of July show...But...now I hate them. I drove around the maze of streets for about...30 minutes...One way this way, one way that way, no outlet this way, pedestrians only that way. UGH! I was wondering around the confusing roads where the hundreds of students were walking...that obviously realize that pedestrians have the right away. Not when I'm doing 30 and you suddenly decide to jaywalk!!! Argh! Oh well....that's alright....the college girls made up for that. LoL
So I ended up finding it, but alas! No parking! So...I pulled up to the curb on this road that turns into pedestrians and emergency vehicles only after about 50 feet. I pull to the curb of a little offshoot (NO PARKING AT ANY TIME! TOW AWAY ZONE! ...figures...) and turn on my flashers. I run around a single building asking students where the nearest pay phone was. Apparently...nobody realizes that there is a payphone just inside the building I circled. I looked in all the doors...and finally found one! Took pictures....but yeah....doesn't matter. I might post them. Once again, nobody there.
And might I mention that by this time...I -R E A L L Y- had to urinate. I was...about to burst. But I only had 10 minutes. So that my car wouldn't get town, I stood by it, pretending to try to find a mechanical problem. Then, at 8:45, I head for the phone with my recorder. It rings, and goes hot. I recorded it this time, and will post the dialogue after checking that nobody else has. I think somebody was hired as a hitman...somewhere...I dunno.
And...tell ya what...I don't care HOW many odd looks you guys got at your axons, college students walking past a car with it's flashers on (specially my beat-up car) who's owner gets out with a camera and tape recorder and runs around a building....TEND to look at you weird. REALLY weird. I think...some of them thought...I was a terrorist. heheh...sweet!
I figured if anybody asked me, I would say it was a weird assignment from one of my professors. Heheh.

Soooo...That was my day. Can't believe it's noon (my time)....It feels like I've been out all day (or at least DRIVING all day...after about 180 miles and half a tank of gas).

So, I guess that's almost all of the Indiana ones...I think we have two more? One hasn't had a chance yet today?

We have people on that, from what Hebel2k told me. BTW: THANKS HEBEL2K!!! I didn't realize that there were new axons! One day away from ILB and the whole world changes, heheh!

Good luck to everyone else!
