1. Stupid_Cop 13:41 PDT (37.582509 -077.499047), Richmond, VA

2. GPS coord is on the street right between two small business and a small shopping mall. I tried the businesses first; I think the phone is in the mall.

3. I definitely plan to return, but it won't be until Friday or Saturday, if still needed.

4. Willow Lawn shopping center - there are three banks of phones that I found (maybe more):
- Northwest entrance
- Southwest entrance
- Restrooms
It is not the Northwest entrance because I asked a woman who was sitting nearby if a phone had rung there.

ps~ we have one axon on 'blip', woo-hoo let's get 'em today!

Just a thouhgt - has anyone tried dialing *69 when they miss a call?

That might be another way to get the axons to go hot.

Good idea... for the Brits here I'm assuming that's the same as 14713.

If 14713 dials the last number that dialled your phone, yes it is.

First Kissimmee (SW of Orlando) location:
1) 0743 PDT, 28.346950 by -81.630343 (Kissimmee, FL)
2) d. Phone didn't ring (verified working)
3) Not planning to return to this specific one today, might do so in the future.
4) The most likely candidate was the phone at the 7-11. The one other person there and I opted to also cover the phones in the McDonald's next door, but not until it was just about time. It's possible that I got to those phones too late. None of the phones ring loud enough to hear from more than a few feet away. There is a hotel, an RV park and Pizza Hut nearby (but much farther from the coordinates), which likely have phones, but they were not checked due to lack of bodies. No other businesses or locations were open or had outside phones.

Second Kissimmee (SW of Orlando) location:
1) 0843 PDT, 28.336158 by -81.591947 (Kissimmee, FL)
2) d. Phone didn't ring (verified working)
3) Since the minimum was not reached, will try to get to this one. The Ourobouros and a friend are also planning to be there, possibly more.
4) The most likely candidate was the phone at the Studio 1 gift shop, it was only a few feet away from the coordinates. There were about a dozen people altogether at this site, some of which scouted the working-but-physically-damaged (handset split in half, but wires connected) phone at the McDonald's next door. The two phones are not visible to each other, and none of the phones ring loud enough to hear from more than a few inches away. In hindsight, in hearing some people's phones were a distance away, the Denny's next to McDonald's has a bank of two phones outside that are probably close enough. There's a Circle K across a six lane divided highway, which may also be the location. Across the intersecting street is a hotel set back from the road, which likely has a pay phone as well.

Spent two hours away from paid time at work yesterday on this, so not planning on investing too much more on possible duds.

Should have read some more before posting. Based on the information in this thread, I got perfect matches on two phones near the coordinates above.

The first location is at the Hong Kong Florida Restaurant, a spot we did NOT cover. I'm not even sure where it is.

In the second location, the McDonald's exactly matches the GPS coordinates. I wasn't with the group covering this phone, so I don't know what happened, specifically - maybe they didn't hear it ring?

The person ahead of us picked up the phone, was asked for nickname, responded "Melissa".

6:07 blip axon

I was going to answer the first blip axon this morning. I met a fellow there that came along shortly before 9, who said he was from this forum. That's why I'm letting you guys know what is up.

The coordinates land you in the middle of the national natural history museum. Which is closed until 10 am. The phone rings at 9:07 EST. There was a payphone nearby outside, but it did not ring. Oh Well.

On the 13:50-- looking at the map, it looks like it's at the south side of the parking lot for the Potomac Mills mall. If it's just some random payphone at the address, like a payphone IN the mall, it could be very, very hard to find. I was considering going there today, but on second thought, I'll probably check out the 13:53 in Georgetown, and if we can't get four_goats in the next couple days, try to organize a posse to stake out all the phones in the mall.

I went to the 14:17, and couldn't find the right phone. There wasn't one where the map said it ought to be, I waited by a phone at the nearby Fair City Mall. There was also a public school across the street though, which was probably where the right phone was. I'm not planning on going back-- we got the group, and I'm not quite sure I want the Queen/Flea to hit 777/777.

For any having trouble figuring out exactly which phone to answer this method matched perfectly the 2 Boise, ID sites that were missed, but we know which phones they were (one missed due to prank "is bob there" call, one missed but found after discovering freaked out Pizza Hut front desk girl that answered it Very Happy )

Ok, I'm almost positive this is how the GPS coordinates were created. Using http://payphone-directory.org phone addresses were located in cities. Then using the following GPS site
http://www.geocode.com/modules.php?name=TestDrive_Eagle
the coordinates were generated.

I've been able to verify this by using the addresses of the three phones axons we activated in Boulder to generate GPS coordinates. These coordinates matched the locations exactly.

In addition I was able to match another phone address to the coordinates for a fourth location we weren't able to find Tuesday. Again the coordinates matched to all decimal places.

SO... if you haven't been able to find a match try matching phone booths in the area using these two sites.

Good luck campers,

1. 11:47 PDT location (Billings, MT)
2. Two of the four phones were in use the entire time I was there, another phone rang once- someone with the wrong number.
3. "Eyes" was unlocked so I don't plan on returning unless it unlocks something new.
4. I think at least one bus comes in every day around 12:30 so it's going to busy every time. I guess camping out trying to "reserve" the phones is an option but bus-riders are generally creepy/scary so that might not be a good idea.

The 7:19 axon under Hey Soldier once again did not ring. We checked the phone to be sure it could accept incoming calls, and it can. Just didn't ring. Sad

COLD GUILTY AXON

This Axon did not go hot.

1. 47.729664 -116.789477 10:59 Coeur d'Alene Idaho guilty
2. (c) I was there from 10:55 to 11:03. No ring.
3. No. I cannot return (Lancer? whoever activated the South Axon in CDA?)
4. Notes on the location / details accessing it.

I STRONGLY believe the phone is a payphone INSIDE an Applebee's restaraunt. No other payphones are close to that GPS coordinate. They open at 11:00am and the staff had no problem letting me inside 5 minutes early to "use the phone".

The phone is located immediately inside their side "applebees to go" door.

Good luck, brother. If the guy who was trying to save his relationship/marriage/whatever is STILL on the phone, cut him off and tell him to just get back on the bus and go home.

For the phones that don't ring (reason c or d) has anyone tried picking up anyways at the specified time?
