Yes, that disruption was the arrival of Durga.

Well, I think we're looking for something else as a source of the disruption. Some mysterious event which caused Durga to arrive on Jersey's PC, rather than the arrival itself.

Some mysterious event which caused a blackout of uncertain size for just a moment, but enough to reboot computers, freak out security systems, etc.

Sound like an EM pulse to me. Not that an EM pulse really fits in story-wise.

what if the base losing power is what alowed Durga to be released from the Navy base computers? That could mean that Jan was there for that purpose or just did it by accident... (I know huge leap here with no evidence)

finally! a natural segue into what i've been burning to say!

Discuss this action: Jan was lying even to her father...the MP's saw the blip in procurement at the personell building next to the motor pool. She told her father that she was returning the pass back to the motor pool so frank wouldn't get spiked for derilection.

This doesn't add up. She clearly wasn't returning a vehicle pass to the motor pool. She was traversing passworded doors, patrols, and survelliance equipment.

She very well could have been the reason for the outage (whatever her true purpose was), or else she just got very unlucky.

It wouldn't have needed to be a big outage for the system to go automatically into beta status. I would suspect that any abnormality whatsoever would change alert status in a futuristic military base.

spec is that she is lying to her dad about why she was on base.

ot, did anyone else think ATM machine when Jersey called his AI Genie?

She was right next to the motor pool. Not the motor pool building. The way it is phrased it sounds like the motor pool area is in part of the personnel building. Even if they are two separate building next to each other, who is to say that the shortest (or fastest or safest) way to sneak to and from the motor pool is NOT through the personnel building?

Also.. She was not returning the vehicle

Interrogator: Are you aware that a vehicle from the base motor pool was found in a ditch outside of town an hour ago?

she was replacing the gate pass.

It was some friends of mine, they turtled a razor-back and then they had to return the gate pass, or else Dwain's dad was going to get spiked for dereliction.

Where is the most likely place that passes are kept? Personnel.

She was caught BECAUSE of the power outage.

Frank: If it weren't for the blackout, we'd never have seen her.

Causing the outage that gets you caught is not very smart and Jan is VERY smart.

Okay, so let's take Jerms spec and run with it a little... lets say she wasn't trying to return the gatekey after all (I wonder if the Stupid Cop found the gatekey on her as evidence...) If all this is true, then what *WAS* she doing in the base?

After listening to the recently released on_time/code_nothing storyline, perhaps Jan was trying to find something out about her "dad"?? He obviously hasn't told her anything about his "work". Maybe she was trying to pull up classified files?

EDIT: for clarity
