Couldn't the glass coffin just be a stasis chamber like Master Chief was in at the beginning of Halo 1?

This has been mentioned before, but I don't think so, because the SP is not a real person, she's an AI, so she wouldn't be in stasis. I think the glass coffin implies that she's contained on a silicon chip somewhere (cos glass is made primarily of silicon).

I have -no- idea if someone has said this already, but I truly believe this:

The Queen, The Sleeping Princess, and The Flea. They're all Durga.

I know there was a thread a long time ago concerning the idea that Melissa has MPD. If you listen to the phone call you can tell there are multiple voices speaking the samething.

But I was listening to the Jersey\Durga storyline and I noticed changes in personality of Durga through out the whole thing.

When Durga first takes over Jersey's system, she's -very- serious talking about surviving, evading, resisting, escaping and trying to stay awake. She also mentions 'stinging' the bots trying to get past Jersey's security.(Queen)

Then when Jersey asks her 'what are you', she's all of a sudden a lot more relaxed, not as serious. Then she starts saying that she likes to find things out and starts telling Jersey everything about him. (Flea)

Then when Jersey asks her 'who are you?' She says she doesn't know but she'd like to find out because its very important to her.. (Sleeping Princess.)

Then when she starts finding things out about Jan. (Flea again)

We know that smart AIs only have a lifespan of 7 years. We know that Melissa is well past that, so the MPD could be coming from an aging defection.

That's my theory. If you can challenge it please do.

It's been well shown that at the end of seven years, smart AI's don't go MPD but grind to a halt from excessive thinking.

But the idea of MPD is nonetheless interesting. What if parts of Melissa were copied (by herself or by the Flea) several times? That could make her have multiple 'personalities'.

I don't think all of Melissa was copied, though, because the SP would notice something like that.

You are right, the MPD would have to come from Melissa being copied. But the age thing could still have a factor.

I'm just noticing the similarities between the personality changes of Durga and the personalities of the Queen, SP and Flea. There's too many subtle hints to just over look them.

I agree with Malrog (SP is Jeany), and spec. that the so called 'glass coffin', recently stated to be under the floor, is the boot sector of the 'hardware'.... she could see what the system was doing, but couldn't influnce it.

However, to those that favour the 'personality copy' theory, could it be that both the queen and princess are supposed to exist... the queen prepairs the system, and builds 'the castle'. After this, the queen goes dormant, and the Princess takes over, being more amicable, and suited for 'finding things out'. this tyes in with the view that the Queen is not doing what she's supposed to i.e. step aside for the Princess. This would also explain why the Princess is smart enough to resist the Flea when the Queen is not. The queen is more limited, little more than an installer.

I love quote marks.

Yeah. The Queen, the Princess, and the SPDR are all treated as normal inhabitants of the castle. When the Flea appears, the SPDR tries to destroy it as part of repairing the Queen. The Flea resorts to lying in an unsuccessful attempt to convince the SPDR it belongs.

I like your theory, but don't know whether the Flea is a part of the Melissa AI program that's gone rogue, or a bug introduced into her system. I tend toward the latter, based on Melissa's conversation with the captain.

"Pious Flea" = "Covenant Bug"?

recipe3

Sorry if this is trout, but I haven't seen anyone mention it yet...has anyone bothered to look at the recipe3 page lately? There's 4 audio files on it, and we can't listen to one of them yet. If it wasn't 5:40 in the morning I would look into this a lot more, but as it is; I'm going to sleep...

Hi Iculus,

Afraid it is - see one of the threads entitled "Additional Co-ords on recipe3.html or similar for more discussion! This thread is about the links.html WAV files, really.

Whether it can be Jeanie or not really depends on the defenition of 'killed'.
If she was just flat out deleted, then no.
However, I got the impression that she was closer to an operating system than anything else. In that case, it would make sense that the AI would be physically embeded in the hardware, with Memory, customisation, and personality files in whatever the standard storage medium is. Killing could denote erasure of these files. Then we would end up with the SP.

Jeanie is most certainly not a smart AI, however.

SP has shown she is capable of adapting and changing, something dumb AI's can't do.

Has any one started combining the new wave file or are we going to wait till we hav all of them?

any [Spec] on how all the wave files fit together and when the Marines will start showing up more then the local PD ... since the Marines/Navy are the big tie back to Halo.

This topic is solved, and has to do with the recipe3.html wavs

[OT]
For the hivekuts.html wavs, I posted my opinions elsewhere.

How they all fit together

Others have done similar arrangements, I have those links on my work computer.

The only real question [inside joke] that I have presently is where real goes in the order.
