Did some tinkering of my own on this with both the Jersey.wav provided by Max Damage and a simple concatenation of the component .wav files from ilovebees.com.
Strangely, "thisprogramsucks" produces a similarly random output. Tried a number of other strings, but that one seemed to be the only one other than "dizzyescapejerseyreflecteddurga" that produced an output.
Experiments with the concatenated file didn't turn up anything interesting, except that it didn't seem to have a problem coping with the internal RIFF headers.

Nearly split my side laughing. I'll try to recreate your success later tonight.

When I copied and pasted the text from jersey, I got this from an online translator! It's got holes, but it is for sure hidden text!

As far as I'm aware - I could be wrong - there are so many characters in both Traditional and Simplified Chinese that even random gibberish often is translatable (if not grammatical or sensical). I think this came up previously with the "hidden text in image" files, where some people found some entirely coincidental Chinese text in one of them.

It looks like just garbage to me. The Chinese written language has 40,000 symbols. It's pretty safe to say that any random program output can be converted to Chinese one way or another, given enough hoops. But none of that even looked remotely like a coherent story or sentence. So far, the Steganography has been much more obvious, and very cohesive, like with the .jpgs it was pretty obvious that there was hidden text.

That's the thing to bear in mind: the images were corrupted, pointing us in the direction of the steg there. The .wavs contained no audible distortion or popping, so at this point you're talking about the kind of steg that would take the CIA a long while to find, to say nothing of a group of geeks like us with too much free time. (Ok so maybe the CIA wasn't the best analogy, but you get my point).

I'll eat a trout if I'm wrong, but I don't think this is how the steg for the .wavs was hidden. I *do* agree that there probably is *some* form of steg to the .wavs, but I don't think it was hidden in them using the mp3 encoding process. I'd guess it's got something to do with transcripting the files, anagrams or word games.

Oh, and one of the *new* axons just went hot. Receipt. Doesn't seem very relevant yet, but download, listen, and SPEC!

I've not managed to so far but I'm working on it Smile Unfortunately, it may take too long for this puzzle. Things move v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y in the academic world!

agreed, I got excited before I actually tried to make sense of the text.
