 		[SPEC] Queen, Pious Flea, and Sleeping Princess = Freud?
I couldn't find any mention of this yet so i thought i'd bring it up.

Does anyone think that these 3 characters (the Queen, the Pious Flea, and the Sleeping Princess) might represent the 3 Freudian divisions of psyche; id, ego, and superego?

id:
In Freudian theory, the division of the psyche that is totally unconscious and serves as the source of instinctual impulses and demands for immediate satisfaction of primitive needs.

ego:
In Freudian theory, the division of the psyche that is conscious, most immediately controls thought and behavior, and is most in touch with external reality.

superego:
In Freudian theory, the division of the psyche that is formed through the internalization of moral standards of parents and society, and censors and restrains the ego. Mostly unconscious, it is composed of the ego ideal and the conscience.

I'm not sure which is which....

[WILD SPEC] Maybe that's why the SP was locked up... because she represents the emotional characteristics of Melissa, from "before." The type that one wouldn't want an AI construct to possess.

OR... perhaps the Flea and SP are the subconscious and unconscious of the Queen?

i would say

id: originally SPDR, now supplanted by the flea... has its purpose in humans for food/shelter (Mazlov's heirarchy of needs bottom rung stuff), in an AI it would be to not get deleted, or in the Flea's case, a simplistic dogmatic mantra

ego: Mellisa, she knows she's in a computer, knows her parameters, but isn't so sure of what's going on "below" her mind

superego: Sleeping Princess, definitely only the "higher level" stuff, can moralize, is the source of things like emotions and expression, but she's been cut off from Mellisa now, so Mel is without a superego

cool stuff... this trifecta is found all over literature, it doesn't surprise me that Bungie would use it too

 		Makes sense. I think it's a good bet that they are all parts of the same AI, just up until I couldn't find a rational way to quantify that; having them be the id, ego, and superego seems pretty plausible to me.

Could SP be Melissa's memory? Now I've never even played HALO (so I don't know anything about how this "universe" works), but after reading you guys I think that SP is the memory of Melissa when she was human, or of the human she was based on. Melissa was damaged during the crash, which made her old memories reappear. Now That PF has taken control of Melissa, she wants to know more about herand seeks to hold her old memories, too. That, I think, would explain why SP is in so close to PF and Melissa in the castle.

Hope that made sense, my first language is french... Rolling Eyes

 		I have to say, this is the first line of reasoning that, for me, makes sense of the possibility that all three are part of a single AI. Good work!

 		The Princess and the Flea
Just read the latest from the Princess. Up to now my spec was pretty similar to what is being proposed, that the princess the queen and the flea are all portions of a greater whole - Like a starship AI. But now....

SPEC> Jan James is the Princess and the Queen is a starship AI.

Based on the Axon Waves I think the general concensus is that Jan is more than human. How much is anyone's guess, but dad REALLY REALLY doesn't want anybody to have a DNA sample lest the cat get out of the bag and people get hurt. The big spiral stairs in the Princess' story just scream DNA to me.

WILD AND UNASHAMED SPEC>

OK, you have this teen-girl supersoldier (And there are a lot of people out there who would buy your game based on that descirption alone) who has just been "activated", maybe had some of her memories supressed, quickly trained and put in cold sleep in a big glass box in a starship. Only she's not cold enough (or too cold - Niven wrote a story about this. And about a ringworld now that I think of it. Wink ) Anyhow, for whatever reason she is capable of thought despite the cold sleep and somehow, maybe using the same tallents that let her beat the PQI, is sending (or has sent) tendrils of thought out into the ships systems.

The Queen has quite enough to do right now, thank you, and would like to just deliver her cargo to where some butt kicking needs to occure, but something has happened in route to screw everything up.

Got to go now - someone is distractling me with some bits of feather tied up to look like a fly! Laughing

Hey, that is quite a good idea! There has been lots of spec if the SP was actually a human, and this would explain that theory pretty well. It would also explain why Jan is in .wav files. Also, many have speculated that Jan is actually a Spartan of some kind, which would explain why she would be in cryo sleep just like MC at the beginning of Halo. Does anyone know if the SP is still answering questions? If so, we should try to get her to say if she is Human or not. Or has she already said anything about her identiy in that regard?
