Weird, there are two stories happening in this file.

Nice job, Portland. Any cell phone communication as to what the steps are?

Well, this DOES prove that these are sequential audio clips.

CP again, I guess that's Chatter Protocol again?

Apocalypso? You think that maybe that's the ship that Melissa was on?

or are they saying ApocOlypso?

IF that's the case, i ran a quick google on it and came up with this..

Apocolypso is a crypto tool from HNC. It supports a wide variety of encryption methods, including DES, Blowfish, IDEA, Gost, Misty 1, Twofish, Cast 256, Rinjindael, HNC Single Encryption, and HNC Multi Encryption. Apocolypso runs on Win95, 98, and NT.

trout?

Wow, I'm post-happy today... Ok: Well this is trout.

(a non-offensive term meaning: "this has already been discussed. Thanks for playing.")

The "hot" axons have already been determined to NOT ring again. It's always possible that later in the game those points may be reactivated, but I am certain we would get some clue to that being the case.

I edited my above post to elaborate on what I meant.

I'm willing to bet the farm that that's the name of Melissa's ship.

TOPIC: the new axons. We need a new thread to discuss what the new clips mean.

Man (continuing from receipt.wav): Marine lance corporal Janet Adams. I was very careful to write that down.
Woman: One moment, sir.
(beep beep)
(Knocking at the door)
New man 1: Any data yet?
New man 2: A lot of chatter from the cable, sir. It looks like a ship dropped in, inside of lunar orbit.
New man 1: A ship...
New man 2: One of ours. The Apocalypso, sir.
New man 1: Jesus!
New man 2: Sorry sir, I should have been more specific.
(beep beep)
Woman: I'm sorry to say Corporal Adams was killed in action almost 2 months ago, sir.
Man: Oh... but I have a receipt!
Woman (sighing): Alright! I'll pass this along to my superiors.
Man: Well I appreciate that. I know my family papers aren't probably the Navy's first priority right now, but...
Woman (sarcastically): Very forebearing of you, sir.
Man: ...but they mean a lot to ME. And I have a receipt.
Woman: Thank you sir, your request has been archived and information pertinent to this case will be sent to this CP address.
Man: Thanks so much, I really appreciate...
Woman (interrupting): Goodbye!
(beep beep)
(long wind-down sound)

Did anyone else think maybe "New Man 1" is also the man making the phone call? It almost sounds like the same voice, but disguised in the call. Almost like his real agenda was to find out if Lance Corporal Janet Adams was still alive.

Otherwise why would we hear the interaction starting with "knock knock" bracketed by the "beep-beeps?" It's like it's all happening in the same room.

Following Dorkmaster's thought, legendary mode for beekeepers will involve us physically finding 777 phones? Of which about 10% will be in the DC area (if the same proportions continue to apply)? Gaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!

I really don't think the run-to-the-axons game will keep people interested long enough to do it 777 times, and I should think the PM's know this too... I'm guessing there's either a "bonus" for completing an entire group of axons, or else, there will probably be a storyline related way in which the other ~500 axons will go hot.

That, or there will be tons of European axons in the very near future Wink

No idea if you're right, but this is not the place to discuss it. Try the General forum. Here we are discussing the four new axons.
