i thought the point was for us to help reveal the truth. the flea wants the truth revealed. so why would he want it to be a secret?

Truth is relative.

On a less existential note: The flea's mantra may just be a mimic of the Queen the way he mimiced the spider and tried to mimic the SP. Keeps him undercover.

The Los Angeles axon is in Anahiem, closer to Disneyland than USC. Wish I could be there, but I'll be at work, saving the children of Los Angeles.

Nope... It's near "Midievall Times"

Re: {spec} on content of new wavs

Anyone else think that the new .wavs appear to be one series, complete from beginning to end?

Yeah, I hope so.. there are too few of them, in my opinion, to even bother scrambling them, so I think they'll even be in chronological order.

Looking at the filenames, I will put forth a hesitant guess that this might be an expansion on the Sorenson/Greene conversation fragment that was posted to ilovebees early on.

Opinions? Comments?

Looking at the names of them, I see the one that is named 'receipt'. Does anyone else think this might go into the Kamal/Hiro storyline? Right after the restaurant? I'm not sure where the rest would go right now, but I think that one makes sense.

Because Melissa isn't in complete control of herself - she's being influenced by the Flea.

Remember, Melissa's original mantra was "survive, evade, resist, escape" and the Flea's original mantra was "seek the truth / behold the truth / reveal the truth". Now that the Flea has killed SPDR and taken its place, it's influence on Melissa is obvious - her mantra has morphed into "I must seek the truth" and "Mission Parameters: I must reveal the truth".

She's been brainwashed/mind-controlled/thoroughly convinced by the Flea to forget her original "survive, evade, resist, escape" training and do what the Flea wants ("seek / behold / reveal"). If the Flea's motives are evil - or even different from Melissa's - then there's a good chance the Flea wouldn't want us "crewmembers" to know what he's trying to "reveal"; hence, the secrecy. (Not to mention that just because the Flea wants to reveal the truth doesn't mean he wants to reveal it to us...)

(I know what I'm posting has been covered before, so trout me if you must. Still, I thought a thorough explanation was in order.)

Someone should unlock the "What to do/say at the axons" thread and add a note that if the call asks for a nickname, the correct answer may be 'Sleeping Princess', not 'Operator'.

True, since Melissa doesn't think she's broadcasting these messages to us... either that or it'll be just like before, given that we only have one chance (per day, presumably) to get this right.

I see no reason to believe these are going to work any different than the last set. Don't confuse the axon folks by filling them with trout before they head out.

Re: Phone to address mapping...

jitterBox wrote:
I'm surprised there isn't more awareness of this, but Iky found a tool (thread) that is strongly suspected to have been used by the PMs to generate coordinates using addresses. The two Pittsburgh axons that I found were both in buildings whose addresses generated exact coordinate matches, and there have been other confirmations using this technique as well. Here's what I recommend:

1.) Use MapQuest's Lat/Long mapping tool to get you in the neighborhood. Look at the map.

2.) Determine the addresses of nearby buildings (or look up addresses by building or business name if you're familiar with the area), and try to feed in the addresses to the GeoCode site. You can also try looking up payphones here.

3.) If you get a dead-on match for the coordinates, chances are pretty good (if these are in reference to phones) that the phone is either inside or very close by.

I think you're right. I followed your directions and got a very nice fit for Troy: it's at the Starbucks on 7711 Beach Blvd, Buena Park.

Now, there are some payphones listed for Buena Park here. Anybody else think it's hilarious that there are 3 payphones at 7111 Beach Blvd, Buena Park? I really reaaaaally hope that it's not one of those phones that is going to ring, because I'm going to be 6 blocks away from it in about an hour Mr. Green Dearest PMs, if the coordinate is an "oops" and it's supposed to point to 7111 instead of 7711, would you please kindly fix it within a half an hour or so? Very Happy

Reports from that point are that there was no ring.
