I'll swing by again over the weekend, when I'm not rushed, and do an in-depth sweep of the area...

Sat. is shot, I work on Sunday, but we take a lunch break at 1. I'll swing down there if I can and look around. Is there any place over there to grab lunch?

Yeah, there's a few places to eat across the street in the Kaleidiscope - I susupect that the phone either is somewhere on that side of the street, or the PMs are calling a phone which doesn't exist anymore...

If you're desprate for food, there's always the mall...

I'm back (I was out of town over the weekend) and the list is updated. The 15:05 isn't new, its our old friend the Promenade.

Also, yay, no more Stadium.

Once again, I'm on top of the Block for this week.

By this time, methinks the Promenade is a done deal. Maybe the other two phones may work better,m but would have to get the phone number over, but for the promenade Sad

Well, the Mission Viejo ones might be a bust... unless I don't know what specifically it is I'm looking for... how far away might the phone be from the exact GPS location???

There are 2 payphones across the street at the Unocal, phone number 949-582-8570, and 949-582-8485. Neither of them seem to allow incoming calls (they make a really odd clicking sound when you call, and when you answer, it says "please wait." repeatedly, until it disconnects...

There are 3 at the Kaleidiscope, one on the upper level - 949-582-9803, and two on the lower level, 949-582-9803 and 949-582-9810. They all say "this phone does not accept incoming phone calls" and calling seems to confirm this.

That leaves the one phone @ the Chevron that Robynn and I were at last week - 949-364-9785, which does accept incoming calls... but it didn't ring...

If it really is at the mall, I'td probably be really difficult to find...

I think we stake out the Chevron and hope that someone's keeping an eye on the message board.

The other option may be to send an update to the payphone site updating that there is only one phone existing at the Chevron now and which one it is. That seemed to help at other sites.

I got the two Buena Park axions again.
The phone on the left (11:43 PDT) still has an extreme amount of hum in it and you can barely hear the signal over the noise.
The phone on the right (12:17 PDT) worked fine.
Only beekeeper present, again.

Arrrrggh..!!! I have NO idea where those phones could be then... How far away from the coordinates have the phones been, usually??? That Coco's seems pretty far from the Men's Wearhouse on the corner...

This is what I get for living in Orange County - the place where everything is spread out... Smile

Did you happen to check out the Office Max on the other side of the Men's Wearhouse? I think the only other option would be to check around the Shops parking structure closest to Crown Valley.

Other than that, I got nothing. If it's in the mall, I'm not sure I want to try to find it.

Edited to add: On the other hand, if they really are trying to call that Chevron, updating the payphone directory may get us a ring at the remaining phone.

HHM, you should be careful what you wish for.

This week's update includes 3 new UCI axons. All 4 UCI axons ring between 8:19am and 9:31am.

Our remaining axons are much later in the day: Buena Park (2, 4:09pm and 4:45pm), the Promenade in Anaheim (!#$@% stop calling there! 5:05pm), MV (I propose checking Office Max as well as staking out the Chevron and Coco's. Who wants to check the Shops? ;p), and my friend The Block (6:03pm, omg so late...sigh).

Well... At least I won't be late for work.

When are you going to have your loverly OC Axon page updated?

Are they all at the same loc? Or different locs?

... That's it. I'm buying a bike... Or a razor scooter.

Robynn,

Are you sure about 8:33 being in Irvine?

The Black Forge list has it as being in Winchester, California.

I'll check it against recipe4 later, I'm working today.

But I'll scout locations at UCI at lunch.
