[SPEC] I Love Bees not directly Halo related?

I searched a bit, didn't find anything. Sorry if there is something there, but it's early in the morning and I thought I'd forget to post this if I waited till tommorow..

But I just had a spec that maybe everything we see on the ilovebees website or the storys unfolding around it; that maybe they aren't related to halo the game.

there's too many links to the halo universe and story to not be linked somehow. To what degree the link goes is yet to be seen though.

I must have missed them because I haven't seen any highly specific links to the halo universe, but then again, I've only been looking at this for so long and so deep..

AI, future type things, Immigrating to EARTH! Coral, Troy, Ghosting, Chatternet, Did I mention AI? and 7's and 3's=bungie=halo universe=Marathon etc. Almost all their games are related.

Not to mention ONI, Spartans (yes, they are in there, thanks to Cherry Cotton for reminding me), Covenant, and glassing.

Don't worry if you're missing stuff. The Wiki was pretty helpful for collecting stuf, but I'm not sure I like the new format. Oh well, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the wiki becomes just as useful as it ever was.

Hi sheeps,

Other people have speculated that "there's no Halo link" but unfortunately - even for those of us working on this that know very little about Halo, like yours truly - the links are too many and too solid to try and deny. For more information, see the XboxConnection wiki page and also search around these forums for key phrases such as halo+connection. There's a lot of similarities, and some direct links (such as the trailer); if this were external to the Halo universe, then its creators aren't very original! (Remember Halo consists of books as well as the game, so there's a lot of backstory.)

As to what extent the events unfolding in ILB directly relate to Halo 2 the game - such as the overlap in characters - we don't know yet, obviously. There's a lot of [SPEC] though - try searching the forums for halo2! So if that was the aim of your original comment then try finding one of those threads to add your thoughts to.

Eventhough almost everything in ILB leads to Halo, there is that slight possiblity that Microsoft and Bungie are using the hype of Halo 2 to promote an upcoming secret project that may also take place in the Halo universe.

Something like a spin-off game, maybe you play as one of the Marines or as a squad of marines. A possible RPG (unlikely but possible).

We can only wait and see what happens. Cool

Certainly plausible (although oddly timed), though to return to the OP's point, that's still related to Halo the game Smile

Sounds...

Any other Haloites notice this?
Towards the end of emergency.wav, one of the fire alarms in the background sounds exactly like the one you hear in "The Maw," after you destroy the four fusion cores. Perhaps there are other sound effects in the .wav files that have been "recycled" for use in this ARG? If it's true, it would solidify the link between Bungie and ILB.

well, counting them up...

I am not arguing that ilovebees is not related to Halo, but here is a take on it.

If you read the text carefully, without speculating what most probably is Halo, and only looking for direct references --there are actually very few direct references to Halo. These include Reach burning, the seraph class, glassing, the Covenant, and some ONI references.

I note that the text contains at least as many direct references to the Illiad and the Odyssey as it does Halo-- Troy (several times), the wine-dark sea, Odysseus, and others.

Very Happy

Not to mention that Spartan joke.

All right. Old joke:
Marine: Damn right, I'm running away! There's two of us, alone, on foot, no weapons, and four hundred Covies on the other side of that hill. What are you going to do, tough guy--field-rig a railgun out of a rubber band and my dental fillings?
Spartan (speculatively): You have fillings...?
