Woah, this thread certainly is nostalgic.

Is anyone curious about how this turned out? Well, I sent out that e-mail (I guess that makes me a spammer) to every student on a list of AP Literature students.

Not a single one showed enough interest to have gone through what I had set up and send an e-mail. After waiting a week or so, I became disgruntled and quit.

I was looking through everything I had set up today and I felt pretty good about it. I believe that if I were an observer as opposed to the PM, I would have thought what i saw was interesting (if very amateur). I should have tried to regroup.

I'm in College now (wow, it's been about two years since this attempt) and if I ever get the free time necessary, I may try again.

Lessons I (Should) Have Learned

1. Focus on your player base. If you are working with a particular community, it won't be hard to know what their skills and interests are. University of Alaska Southeast is an incredibly small school, so I don't see this as a particular challenging objective.

2. Make it look good. This isn't Perplex City, but a tripod site and a default-layout LiveJournal is ugly and screams "lame."

There's probably more to learn, but it's not like I ever got feedback from my "playerbase." Everything I know is based on seeing that the intial attempt was unsuccesful and my own observations of what I had done.

Well, if you decide you want to do a campus-oriented ARG, you may want to look into Obie Game at Oberlin and maybe even talk to the PMs.

I guess I'm bringing this back from the dead...sorry...

I was thinking about doing a local arg finally, but I need some help. You don't need to be from Abq, NM to help either. I am looking for story, puzzle, anything makers. I guess this is a recruitment post...
