[EMAIL] From Reed Re: Tasteless merchandising?

Not that I expected anything other than the response I got, related to the thongs and teddy bears on Cafepress but thought I'd email anyhow Smile

Reed wrote:
I believe the book truly honors the memory and poems of my grandmother.
But you must understand - with my low profit margin on the Dead Poems
books, I have found the need to supplement my income with Cafepress
merchandise. A lot of time, effort, and money went into this endeavor so
far, and I believeI am entitled to make a little money from it.

What I did was select a number of potential pieces of merchandise,
rather than specific choose items for sale - I can't speak for the
tastes and choices of my readers, but I feel it does not hurt to offer a
wide variety to an potentially broad-minded audience.

Thank you for your purchase - I hope you enjoy the book as much as I
enjoyed compiling it. And if you choose not to buy any DeadPoems
memorbilia, I will understand, but several people did inquire if there
would be any... all I have done was provide a venue to satisfy their
cravings.

Thanks again.

Hi,

Is it not very tasteless to have some of the merchandise you do for
sale? I mean there are thongs and teddy bears with Dead Poems written on them, do you really think your grandmother would approve of this?!

I have purchased a book, and paid for it to be shipped to the UK, but
this merchandise just seems a little wrong and degrading to your
grandmother's memory.

Best regards
