Thanks guys... you know, I think we might get all of the .wav files today. All the ones that have gone past so far have gone HOT. Maybe we'll finish ahead of schedule a bit. (i.e. in time for tomorrows update).

You jinxed it! Smile
But even without Visa (or a couple others), we'll pretty much have the story down.

Thanks to Mad Cow (go team Boise!) there is a transcript for visa. You can see it here: http://members.cox.net/katy-w/axons.htm

Visa

What is getting to me is that the 12:07 entry is literately 5-10 minutes from where I live. Unforunately at that time I'm working about an hour away.

I'll grab it saturday if it's still open.

Found another business - 12:07 Visa

Another hit for the payphone-directory.

The coords for the 12:07 Visa map directly to the address for a Dairy Queen in Brockton, MA. I called the number after the failed attempt today - and just like the two locations listed for Hyannis,MA & Barnstable, MA - it turns out to be the phone number for the Dairy Queen, not a payphone. Rolling Eyes

The gentleman I talked to became very interested once I told him it was related to Halo 2. He isn't working tomorrow unfortunately but will try to get in touch with someone who is, and asked that I call tomorrow as well.

At one time this number was a payphone - for employees, but Dairy Queen had it pulled and replaced with a real phone at some point since the entry into the payphone-directory.

Time to start calling the numbers listed for the South Shore Mall - aka the 14:01 tack_hammer. [SPEC] If they are trying to locate/bring us together for some event at the end the South Shore Mall (or Braintree Mall) would be a good place to do it.

I have the same problem. A lot of the phones are like w/i 20 min from my house, but I work like an hour and a half away from my house. Why are these darn things during working hours? Oh well, gives me some fun over the weekends.

Those last two were me. I almost got the 9th, but I got there at the last ring. But I'd say 2 of 3 in 12 minutes is pretty darn good. No sign of the phantom Albuquerque beekeepers (who got the other 6), but I'll keep looking. Unfortunately, I won't have a chance until Tuesday to get the 9th, Scholes Hall payphone, and then it'll be tight. But anything's better than racing across campus twice like I did today. I only have to do it once more. Smile But I hope New Mexico gets lots more (I need the exercise)

*does a happy dance* Rock On

Woot, my first two axons!

That was guys in the generic sense of "all you people"... sheesh... no offense meant obviously.

Watch the sites though, dragonrider - chances are there will be new axons Tuesday ("update Tuesday") and that one may no longer be valid. (And good to hear there's yet another one of us girls representin' on the axon hunt!)

No offense taken, and I meant it as "that was all me." I was alone, running across campus, professors giving me weird "well you must be really late for class" looks.

And don't worry, I'll definitely be watching the sites. I've just got to work on Friday and Saturday and move on Sunday and Monday, so I won't be able to get back to that one again until Tuesday. But it's nice to know that I found the right spots after getting the coordinates this morning. I was worried there at the first one (which was in the middle of the library, glad I silenced that one quick before the librarians decided to disable the phone).

a couple of friends and i spent a good five hours scouting the lincoln NE coordinate for raining cops today and the best we could tell it was a dud, the only pay phones in the area we camped, no calls, the coordinates lead to basically a tree, there was one spot near the coordinates that looked like there could have once been a phone booth there. Oh well, the file is hot even though we missed ours. Since Visa isnt up, we will try and hit the Beatrice, NE location tomorrow.

This is off topic, but it might be important (as well as trout). Im playing halo right now on the PC and I noticed something; when Master Cheif finds Srgt Jenkins' helmet, the video that plays (of the flood going all 'Eat Your Face' on the soldiers for the first time in the game) is ended with these words: Unexpected Halt X. Or something like it. Halt X. Sound familiar? Wasn't that part of the messagey thingy that popped up awhile back at ilove bees? Connection? Hmm? Hmmmmmm? If this is trout than holy crap I am sorry. I'm pretty sure there was an 'X' after the Halt. Wasn't there? Anywho, I''ma go play some more. Drop me an IM if you have something to say to me! DoNotPokeTheFro - Aim.

Hey guys, I'm new to the site but not to Ilovebees. I just got to the University of Pittsburgh, and I finally have some axons near me to hit.

So, if you guys need a Pittsburgh, PA phone to be lit, I'll grab them as quickly as possible. Most of them seem to be close to the University or major shopping areas where buses travel alot (like one is still ringing at the Waterfront Shopping District, I guess people keep screwing that one up by picking it up and not playing the game) I'm hitting two tomorrow, don't know if they're done yet though, although the website says that they aren't. I'll update when I hit the sites.

2 more Axons hot for Washington today!

We got to "the_human_heart" (12:43) at around 12:35. Me and CameraMan (nickname for my brother) were posted at "The Tower". There was a payphone right at the base of the building by one of the entrances. Biker and Nordstrom (nicknames for my other brothers) were at a public library nearby. There were two phones there, so we were pretty much set. I searched around the base of the building a bit, making sure there were no other payphones around. Walked into an alley. No payphones, but there was a raven in a trash can eating something. I walked up and growled at it and waved my hands (Muhahaha!!). It flew off.

12:43 rolled by, and I heard some radio chatter on the walkies. At first I thought I heard "We're hot" (our code for letting the others know which phone is ringing), but I wasn't sure. Few seconds later, "We're hot!" was repeated.

I set out in a dead run for the library, CameraMan right behind me. Knocked over a few old ladys, jumped over a hedge (literally). Finally met up with Biker and Nordstrom. They were on the phone with Melissa, listening to the audio file. They said repeat and handed me the phone. I listened, said repeat, and handed the phone to CameraMan.

That's it for The Human Heart. AXON HOT, Mission successful!

Got to "raining_cops" (15:41) at around 15:34. Waited, waited waited......*RING!* I picked up the phone, was asked for her real name. I answered Melissa and it went into the audio clip.

I was the one to activate the third Axon for raining_cops and UNLOCK the wav. file!! WOOHOO!

This was a very full day, and very satisfying.
