17:59 creepy, Burbank, California

MrBabyMan and I showed up at the Burbank Airport Hilton for the 17:59 "creepy" axon. I discovered that five of the six pay phones in the hotel would not accept incoming calls, so I had an impending sense of dread. MrBabyMan, however, found another bank of three pay phones in the nearby Burbank Hilton Convention Center, just east of the hotel (they share a parking lot). All three of his phones accept incoming calls, and the third from the left is the one that Melissa called. Axon hot.

Next up: The cursed Burbank Media Center axon! (16:07, "i_hate_you")

man i was hoping someone had gotten VISA, because my freinds and i were unsuccessful at Beatrice, NE location. I think we know where the phone might be at now, but i dont know if well be able to make it back. both nebraska coordinates werent really anywhere close to any payphones, or close to anything for that matter. the closest payphone to the lincoln coordinate was inside a UNL library and didnt ring. Coordinate is a big tree Confused Beatrice coordinate was on the side of a gravel road next to a cornfield and a community college. So , we camped all the phones we could find on the campus of this college and none rang, looked some more afterward and found one that might have been it. Basicly, i dont see anyone getting the beatrice one, so hopefully some of the other locations will get theirs tomorrow?

I'm probably the closest person to the 15:55 asset coordinate in Sycamore, IL. It's about a 45 minute to an hour drive, maybe longer depending on traffic, with no guarantee I'd find the phone, but I'd probably be willing to try it once (not more, since it's right at rush hour and involves paying tolls to get there, ick). Anybody want me to try it this weekend? It's also one of the SP-listed future coordinates, should I wait for that (since we already have the asset .wav)?

PS: To Chicago people, it'd be real easy for me to make it to the Hinsdale axon and not too awful to Lemont, though it's a little farther.

Re: visa

Whatever happened to all of the Colorado axon hunters from last week? Couldn't one of them get one teensy axon (out of three) that would unlock the last clip. Pleeeeaaaasssse?

Don't make us do the work - check for yourself.

With special emphasis on the axons not gotten for "visa" - which I see the page owner has put in BOLD so there's no confusion about our wish list:

http://www.theblackforge.net/hivekuts-coords.html

(ignore the bold on "code_word" - altho the other would be nice to get, we did get a third yesterday that unlocked the clip so it is lower priority)

I did and didnt see one.

I was responding to Elec who seemed to imply that Lemont had 1.

Thought maybe the list was not updated with the Recipe3 AXON's.

Sigh, Lemont is in this one: http://www.theblackforge.net/princess-coords.html

Probably won't go active until Tuesday, but the SP was kind enough to give us a heads up. I thought it was an existing axon but I guess it's new for next phase.

hot axon!

Found the 0727pdt to_do axon in Raleigh, NC, that I was looking for today! Very Happy The coordinates point to East Martin street, but the phone is actually on South Wilmington, between the defunct Jimmie's Market and Grill and the entrance to the Moore Park public parking deck. The phone quietly buzzes with incoming calls; if I hadn't been standing right next to it, I'd never have heard it. (In fact, my husband was standing right next to me and thought I was just being paranoid about missing the call...he didn't hear it at all.) Nobody else showed up.

So anyway, Raleigh is now 3/4. Woo hoo! Wink

Deltina's Axon Report for Saturday:

MISSION FAILED

I got to the corner of Liberty Ave. and 10th St. and was present with a bewilderment. My GPS pointed to a skyscraper, as I complained about earlier, but the skyscraper was actually a Weston Hotel. After walking in, it all made sense. The coordinates were actually pointing to the lobby phones.

The staff and I were displeased to find out that their phones weren't the correct phone. (I told them about it, and they were quite intrigued about it). They do recieve incoming calls, and they do work, but they didn't ring.

So, I got about 3 phones left in the area to test. I'll try again tomorrow.

AXON SKIPPED

Bus was late... and I missed this phone today. I skipped, and went onto one of the SP phones...

Extra Axon - Sleeping Princess Phone #1
11:57 PDT

I think I found the right phone, it was pretty damaged up, and in a bad part of Shadyside, Pittsburgh. Like, it had to be the most random phone ever created. It was in the middle of nowhere. So I'm sure this was the right phone.

Phone works, just didn't ring, which was expected. I wrote "ilovebees.com" on the back and put a bee sticker on it so I can find it again, and to tell everyone else who might be wondering that that was the right phone.

That's my report... That leaves Pittsburgh still 2 Axons Hot out of a possible 5. I'll get two more tomorrow... I will get them...

Kidk and I got 4 axons today in the Seattle area. We had to come in from the eastside, and we couldn't do it until the weekend. We had to do it in 2 trips because of the time blocks involved. There's still some trouble locating a few of them... if you're in the Seattle are and want to try, check out the Seattle thread.

I also posted up specific locations of all the axons I know in Seattle in that thread. Should make any repeats easy to get!

Re: 16:07, Burbank, California

Failed once again to activate the cursed Burbank Media Center axon (16:07, "i_hate_you" -- and I really, really do). Melissa is not calling the two pay phones on the west end of the first floor, by the mall security office. Which, incidentally, means that all the cursing I did at that jackdonkey who wouldn't delay his phone call back on August 24 was for naught, since that phone wasn't the right one anyway.

Ah, well. Process of elimination. ("Same time tomorrow. We must get a winner one day." Mr. Green )
