Am I reading the round 4 threads incorrectly, or do we think that the Union Station axon is going to ring 12 times a day?!

At least it's during lunch hour, but it's likely that a sound file will go live or fail depending on only our ability to find the $%!# phone.

Yes. Many ringings will be heard. Cortana and Mike_Was are taking the day off tomorrow to nail as many as they can - they will start on the Mall and you may run into them. Or wave them off tonight for axons you definitely will get.

Re the lunch hour, I am going to try to get over to Union Station too to just try to knock this one out with Cortana and Mike. Union Station - big push by Cortana and Mike. If "we" still can't find the phone we'll have a bunch of chances to try the ones we have discounted again. and again. and again. edit: oops - lunch meeting at work, can't do it Tuesday. Sorry, guys. But I will be at the computer in the AM to help figure out the new question.

I don't think Melissa has been updating at midnight. More like morning, or even noon. Although not quite consistent with us getting the 6AM axons...

I've updated the DC reference page with the round 4 axons. I will update the page again when we know the code words and the status of the round 3 axons, but this version should be good for hunting on Tuesday.

Okay, new [SPEC] based on today's Union Station trip: All the axons from 9:11 to 9:31 will ring among the phones at a single bank of phones. The phone bank is located across from the Au bon Pain restaurant at the back of the Station. Some phones in the bank are marked with "no incoming calls." Below is a graphic depicting the phone bank; phones that do not accept incoming calls are marked with a "-" symbol, and phones that do accept incoming calls are marked with a "+" symbol and numbered from 1 to 6. Only one axon was enhottenated today, the 9:31 at phone # 2

If this [spec] is correct, it will require multiple trips, or multiple people, or both to get all these axons.

Note that the phones appear to ring once, and must be picked up on the ring. Picking up after the ring leads to dead air, so speed is necessary. Also note that the audio for this axon is appropriate: (paraphrased from bad memory) "Payphone, what's that? Ancient technology... half of them don't accept incoming calls and no GPS..."

More [spec]: 12 phones, 12 axons, only half of those phones accept incoming calls (just like the audio). It may be that we'll only get 6 of those axons hot (just enough to unlock the .wav file) because only 6 accept incoming calls. And if that's the case, the PM must have somebody on the ground in DC scouting the phones.

Mike said he heard a phone ring on the other side of him - most likely at the rental phone group. But only one. And he said Cort only heard 4 ring at the Au Bon Pain set. I think Melissa is being much more evil than you give her credit for here. See what I posted in the main thread for comatas.html.
