AD, sorry about the delay on replying... I've been busy with other facets of my life (I'm the leader of a static party in FFXI, for those who play FFXI). As of right now (2:15 PM) I figure it's pretty much too late to do anything today, but tomorrow I figure I can go out, if not, I will be out there on Friday.

I'll give an update as soon as I have some info to give.

Also, on the page of DC co-ords
6:23 PDT: That area doesn't look familiar...
9:07 PDT: I confirmed and know the location of.
10:21 PDT: If that is the same co-ords as before, it's across the stree from the smithsonian.
10:35 PDT: I was there with INCyr before, so I know where it is.
11:01 PDT: Not me... if that was the previous 14:11 PDT loc, that was all INCyr. If you want to contact INCyr, check the IRC channel. He hangs there.

EDIT: One of the AXONs have gone hot on the page: 8:07

8:07 Good - I don't have to hit the Wendy's again. Anything you can hit would be great, kaziel, but if you can focus on the ones that are needed for a sound clip (see my post of this afternoon), that's what the players most need.

Wilco, DC commander! *salutes* Very Happy

In all seriousness, I'll keep up with which ones in our area activate, and post their activation on here, and tomorrow or Friday (and definitely on Sunday if any are left) I'll be bebopping around town answering phones.

Don't kill yourself again, please. You've really done a huge amount of work!

Worshippy

Once the clips are active I would take it easy. Nice to have, but we've done so much work in DC we can coast a bit.

It doesn't bother me, really... I'm ex-Army, so the fact that I'm so sore bothers me... I've gotten soft in the 9 months or so since I left the service. Mad I look at it this way: I'm getting back in shape. Very Happy Plus, I see things as such: If you are gonna do something, do it right!

Also, I'd like to thank Chappy for the DC loc page... that will make things so much easier (printed it out, thank goodness for color printers)

Update: 13:59 is hot. ^_^ Waiting on 14:27 (but comparatively less important b/c the file is already available)

EDIT: 14:27 is not hot.

Kaziel, if you're going after Union Station, post what phone(s) you covered. If anyone has more time they can go back and try more.

Oh, and w00t! I think yours was the third to go hot and release the clip!
(edit - yep, MoToss posted re the last axon today)

And did you see chappy at 13:59?

There were no problems today at the 13:59 axon in Georgetown (inside the Loews Theater, on the left towards the back, second phone from the left). I also updated the DC Reference Page, note the axons needed to complete a set are marked as "priority 3/3" and in bold in the links at the top of the page.

I will not take credit for ones I did not do. I wasn't there... I was just going off the DC list, comparing it with the ilovebees page, to see if the one at the appropriate time was hot.

I live in Bethesda and could take the metro down to one or two of these. I will try to be at the one by the Carousel one to mall tommorow, and maybe the other one on the mall too, if I can get up early enough. They are both fairly close to the Smithsonain metro station, and, it is difficult to get lost around the mall (I don't know the city that well).

Okay, my game plan for today (and by today, I mean in 5~hours when I wake up to go to my first loc) is to be at these sites (all times in PDT):

6:07 anything_illegal
6:23 anything_illegal
7:43 to_do
9:07 cute_little_caps
9:41 code_nothing
10:11 drt
10:21 drt
10:35 curious_girl
11:01 freelance

Note: The only one's that might give me some trouble are the 6:07 and 6:23 and that will only be if I oversleep a little (as I am prone to do...).

I'm posting the times of the phones I'm going to hit to minimize having too many people at one phone, but that doesn't mean I would have a problem with having company. Wink

Also, I might hit Union Station... but that one is 3.5 hours after my previous call... and if I go home, I'm pretty much done... the only exception is if I can get a ride out to Union Station. If I take that route, I will post that I am going, what I will be wearing, and after I get back what phone(s) I watched, plus whether or not I succeeded.

EDIT: No oversleeping for me! It's 7:47 AM EDT and I'm off!

One of the reasons kaziel is targeting only two of the four drt axons is they are too close in time and too far apart. If you want to improve the odds of getting all four of the drt axons, try for the other two. If you like, you can meet him at an earlier one to see what happens. He's on a bike w/a helmet.

chappy will be getting the 10:23 at the National Building Museum. I am going to try for the one at Washington Harbor. The first can be walked from the Mall (it's a few blocks); the second really can't and is not near the subway so I wouldn't worry about it.

You may meet some high school kids on bikes at some of them. That's cool. They're all helping.

Monkeymule2 - I may have spoken two quickly. The other drt axons aren't as pressing - the first is the one at the National Gallery that is not found (so far - see chappy's post about where he looked); the other is the one at the National Building Museum that chappy is handling (with the coat check guy as backup) so probably not worth the extra effort.

Not currently on anyone's dance card:

8:37 3rd & D SW (we have the sound clip but not the axon, but also not the exact location of this phone)
10:31 Ballston Metro (Virginia/Orange Line outside station)
14:27 Union Station (new; one attempt; not found)

But I think you will have more fun (and see more of the Mall) if you just focus on the Mall ones, and hang with Kaziel when you run into him. Oliver may also show up.

Reports from Kaziel:

6:07 axon is HOT!

6:23 PDT phone not found. I thought this was one found last time - INCyr says he was't the one to get it last time). Anyone else willing to fess up that they got it last time? And who can give a definite location?

7:43 PDT phone not found. I showed up too. The only one on the corner did not ring (we checked, it could). Resident said that's the only street payphone for at least a block in all directions. I suppose there could be one inside the Studio Theater on the corner but we had no basis to walk into a closed theater at this hour of the morning. Probably there are some in the Whole Foods Market halfway down the block on P Street, but since the to_do sound clip is available I don't think we should bother to try to find it again.

edit - a check of the 7:43 coordinates on geocaching.com puts the phone even more emphatically inside the Studio Theater. For all I know the lobby could be open (they probably have business stuff going on, shows in rehearsal, whatever), but I probably can't get back to check it out.

9:07 PDT axon is HOT
9:41 PDT axon is HOT
10:11 PDT axon is HOT

Chappy gets the 10:23 PDT

Someone (a mystery to me, unless Chappy took it on), got the 8:37PDT that was mapped at 3rd & D SW.

edit - that was Chappy

If anyone has exact location info, let us know!

Another mystery "get" 10:31 PDT (Ballston Metro)
