[POLL] Another round of questions (8/27) The 8/27 update says:
Quote:
Paul P is the winner!
...
Okay! That was fun! Let's play again!
Here are seven more people, as 'cause you guys seem VERY INTERESTED in seven-y things….
I'll set up another poll. Remember, this poll HERE in the forums is for community discussion only, and will not affect the outcome of the game at all. Our previous instructions were:
Quote:
To VOTE, send me a letter* with the name of the person whose question you want answered where it says "subject"
*(yes, you contact the Sleeping Princess thru email to ladybee777SPLAT hotmail.com as before.)

For all those people voting for "can we trust you?" I have this to say:
COME ON!!!!
Like she'd come out and say
"You know what? On second thought. No. Don't trust me. I'm an evil liar and I'm going to destroy all that you love. Have a great day!
love,"
I'm not making fun of the originator of the question... It's not a bad idea, but WAY too meta to be answered seriously.
-DM
Edit - it's quite liberating not having a question of mine in there! Cuz now, I can say what I mean, and not worry about people thinking I'm "campaigning"...

It seems that with competition from Puzzles, General updates and now Axons that the interaction forum is the unfashionable section of unfiction.
Not that it matters. I have some more information - the princess edited my question to focus on the two she wanted to answer.
Original email:

I'd like to ask you a few questions. Answer them however you like - you're probably very busy. What I'd like to know is, How can you hear and see so much? What does the name Melissa mean to you? Most importantly, how can we trust you?
anyway, I'd love to hear the answers to Matias D's question, Smooth Jack's, or my own.

Not to blatantly support my own questions but;
if it was 'can we trust you' it wouldn't give her any room to dodge the question; 'how can we trust you' is more likely to get a wiggling or flip answer.
anyway, its not like any of the questions will recieve a straight answer.

I definitely hear what you're saying but in-game, it's a bit offensive, isn't it?
"Yeah, we got the info on the axons, the Queen and the high tower, the flea/seeker stuff, and all the stories you wrote before...
But I still don't know if I trust you... Tell me why I should."
I just think it's just too meta. I mean, we're not questioning Dana, and I personally think she's been less helpful than the princess. (I'm definitely not questioning Dana though.) But you see what I mean... it's just unexplainable, in-game wise. It's a GREAT question! It really is. I don't want people to think I'm putting the question down. But I am putting the question down in terms of where we are in the game, to whom we're asking the question, and what kind of response we can really use to get us further in this game.
So again, no offense intended... I'm just presenting my opinion on why i don't think it's the best thing to do. (the last thing we want to do is offend the princess, ya know?)

i'm going with Jack's question, all the rest are too easy to answer with a metaphor... his cuts right to the chase, and there's very little poetic wiggle-room for SP, she'll have to come up with something concrete

They are quishy. or I think long noses are ugly.

What makes one human?

Are you significant? I am working with you.
It is easy to be evasive or to give unheplfull answers. Personally, I think that engaging her at her own level using her own metaphores is likely to get the best results.

i'd go with Matias' question. it's vague enough to give the princess leeway to give us some more clues.

it's all good remember, folks...we are SP's only friends in the world right now. She will give us needed info no matter what we ask her.
Personally, I think, "What would make you smile." Is an absolutely brilliant profiling question that would both give us more insight into how SP thinks, but is likely to give explosive new info. It also has all of the benefits that DM's old question had of being more conversational.

I am going with Angela's ... I think that it would be incredibly helpful to get some direct information about the Princess's relationship to the Queen, and who specifically the Princess is. I am, of course, not saying that we *would* get specific info ... I am just saying I would like it.

I like James' question. Mainly the "Do you have a job?" part. It would let us know if she has a purpose or not. Is she just a loitering teen or does she have a task she wants to acomplish. I also like the last question, because it ties in with this post where she says "So the tools I would look for first is, I would try to figure out how come I got HERE. That's where I would start". It would maybe get her to remember something about her past.

I like Angela's question the most overall - a name would be nice to have, ditto a relationship - but I think the SP already answered both questions in her response to Paul. She said she didn't remember anything from before she was a Sleeping Princess, but knew there were people who did. Her name was specifically mentioned, and I don't think we'd get a relationship to the Queen described till she remembers more.
That said, I vote for Matias's; it's nice and profile-y, and the sight part could get really interesting results.

[SPEC] [QUESTION] Amnesia/Repressed Memories Are there any psychologists out there? Does anyone here have experience with Amnesia or Repressed memories therapy? What questions can we ask to trigger buried memories? From watching too much TV it seems a bump on the head always works , but, more seriously, I've also heard of hypnosis. I can't for the life of me figure out a way to hypnotize a computer though.

this is quite a bit of [SPEC] on my part, but , you know what I just noticed?
Quote:
The Tower is a tricky place for me to go. The only way up there is a pair of spiral staircases that wind around one another, with no rail and a very scary drop down the middle.
does that sound like an allegoricalized spinal chord to anyone else here? it continues:
Quote:
There's a room up there and the Queen was in it: I could hear the hum and buzz of her. I knew she would be standing at the window, because that's nearly all she does these days.
hmmm... sounds like Melissa's looking through someone's eyes.
I find that very strange...
