With Dana's new blog post, it makes me wonder if the stories themselves arn't that important (who's what in the ONI and so forth), rather that these stories may just be psalms. Parables. Like the episode of Star Trek: TNG where Picard is trapped on the planet with the guy who only communicates through stories.

Hive-ku theme?

I am spec'ing that the theme of the Hive-ku posts is coercion into doing things illegal. Cop coerces Jan into helping him cover up his vigilante effort, and it appears that Aiden coerces Kamal into doing something illegal. I will be interested to see if coercion shows up in more clips.

I think that there may be something to the idea of themes. While earlier I was focused on the "power outage" as the pin that brought the Jersey/Jan/Kamal arcs together, it now appears that they've been tied by the events detailed in hivekuts as well.

Maybe each section is thematically linked as well. The Princesses story certianly has a thematic slant, as do Melissa's ramblings.

|||||Idea Also, here is a good place to give high praise to theBruce for his tireless effort at an exhaustive compilation of all in game material (audio transcrips and text). This is the place to go for plaintext, cleanly formatted copies of everything, in one searchable location. Not annotated, just presented for your reference. GOOD SHOW MATE! Keep it up (and up to date!), we're relying on you now! |||||

I believe thebruce is on holiday right now, but I'm sure he'll jump to it when he gets back.

I think Extrasonic is keeping that site up to date while he's away.

Anyway, back on topic, I have to confess that the little I can glean from the wavs we currently have is really not enough to base any SPEC on, so I guess I'm just going to wait until I have a few more wavs.

- Malrog is hedging his bets Wink

Though I highly doubt it, I might as well throw this out there. Could we be listening in on the future?

I think thats exactly what we are doing.

Dude definatly comes after Red. It also seems that Red was not a tie-in to Jan's story. The red button set the 'office under fire' call with a location of Hiro's chatter-net connection. Sounds like poor Hiro had half the police force show up on his door step Wink

This is dude.wav... couldn't figure out how to make the quote thingy say that, bah.

Quote:
(footsteps)
H: My address book, my schedule, my debit account, every damn thing!
K: Mine is cooler than yours.
H: You just couldn't let me hit that blue button, could you?
(footsteps stop - rustling of plastic bags)
K: That would've pushed the officer under fire alert to my chatter, which was plan A for if Aiden tried to, you know...
H: Pull out your lungs?
K: Don't sound so eager. But as it turned out, I needed the cop to go away.
H: "Away" meaning to me. And "cop" meaning every officer within fifty city blocks. All because I hit the *red* button.
K: The officer under fire alert...
H: ...while it was still on *my* chatter.
K: uh... yeah, but... Sophie sent leftovers!
H: Leftovers?
(plastic containers being opened)
K: Yeah, she made [Marties?], little stuffed appetisers, and spiced lamb meatballs - with real meat! And almond rice, a-and milk pudding. So... are we okay?
H: DUDE!
(wind down sound)
