[SPEC] Important Habits of an Axon

Melissa is sending out these axons to find her crew.
(The PMs are trying to find out where we live.)

Each time we get an axon hot in a remote location Melissa will
use it again in the next set. We don't want that. We want a final
set of axons that has locations just around the corner from our
homes.

If she can't find them on the outskirts she'll stop looking there.
She will pinpoint our locations and attempt to transmit the new
axons near to us.

When the "hot" axons are reset there should be new ones added
in that area. Then they will be reset with more new ones. By
doing this we will actually be affecting the locations of the axons.

We will still have to get 777 axons but they will be closer to us,
concentrated into hot little pockets.
Edit: This is happening already (9/7).

With 7 or 9 axons as the requirement just over the horizon I don't
think that we should be driving out of our hometowns unless it is
vital to opening a .wav file.

Or imagine if on the final axon day there are 30 axons, each with their
own .wav, and we have to drive 2-3 hours out to grab them.

Edited: Continuosly

I agree. If you drive 3 hours away to fire an axon, you'll have to drive 3 hours every week (so it seems from the about.html) to hit it again if nobody else can get it. I think we should try to stay local unless we absolutly have to travel farther for a tough-to-get wav.

MOved to Coordination, per request. And you're right.

DON'T GO OUT OF YOUR WAY TO GET AN AXON!
YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO GO BACK AGAIN AT THE SAME TIME NEXT WEEK!
FOCUS ON ONES YOU CAN GET TO EASILY!

other people play

On the other hand, we get new people playing the game all the time, many of whom don't report in here.

I still think everyone should just do what they want here, if they feel like taking a trip to answer a phone, get to "talk to" the Operator, and try to activate an axon, they should go for it. Getting to participate in this kind of event in this kind of game is a unique experience. Each person who wants to take advantage of the opportunity to join in should do so. Smile

Exception to the rule?

Last week I drove almost 2 hours to take care of two axons.
Neither of the two have appeared on this list. - not that they won't in the future -

Does it seem that only the first few captured from each group being repeated?

Perhaps only the first two used to unlock each .wav will repeat in the current set... anyone remember which pairs of co-ords in each set went hot first? If not, maybe we can keep track of the order of completion for this new set and watch for the first three in the next groupings?

I know that my post was very hard-lined but ofcourse, rose, you are right.
I would not want someone to miss a chance to be involved. My point is
that, in general, we should try to keep the axons concentrated.

One of mine that was the first to go hot in my group is back on the list.

However, another one I got on the second day, which I am pretty sure was not one of the first two in its group, is also on the list. I can check that at some point if I can find someone willing to slog through tedious logs to figure it out. (It was the 12:11 PDT axon last time.)

With us fast reaching the point where 7/7 axons will be required to
open a .wav file and axon hunters are becoming little local groups,
I believe this [SPEC] is becoming much more valid.
