Right down the street on Stark I picked up a very fine fried pork cutlet sandwich with carmelized onions, peprika and horseradish cream.

Ah yes, fried pork... a fine meal by any standard. Yes, indeed.

well, the problems with my web site ( http://jes5199.com/getaxons.html ) are fixed, but there's some chance ( around 100% ) some of the newest (within the last week) notes were lost. that teaches me for trusting somebody else's database
sigh.

i should really write a good automatic killer.jpg list creator.... but i'm not entirely sure there will be another round after next week (we're so close to 777 !!!)

anyway, i'll try to grab SE 82nd & King this weekend, just cause it's there.

I have a favor to ask:

Today I'm going to get that elusive 7:39 axon, the last one necessary to make the "alaska" sound file go hot, provided that I don't spontaneously screw up the word "Greene." Can anybody take the other one, the 17:25 one at 82nd and King? Today's our last day to get these axons before the new list goes up, so if we get both of them today we can enjoy the spectacle of ALL AXONS CLEAR FOR PORTLAND! WOOHOO!

...but of course, don't take off work or nothing, Cherry's personal gratification is not worth going out of your way to answer a payphone.

Thanks!

Sorry Cherry, I didn't see your post about getting the axon before I went to get it. Either way, we unlocked alaska for everyone, so woo-hoo.

(No problem, Archon, it was thanks to you that I knew that the payphone was the one we needed.)

Hello and welcome to the all-new Recipe 1 Axons: Featuring Chocolate Chip Cookies!

I compiled a list of the Oregon axons. Plus, as an added bonus, visit any axon today and get a free Bee-Licious Chocolate Chip Cookie! No, seriously, I made a batch and they're very tasty, and I'll be taking 'em along with me and all you have to do to get one is to participate in the following conversation....

CHERRY: Hello. I am still detecting somewhat substandard cooking hardware. This is getting very suspicious. I need to tell you something in order to help me reveal the pastries, but... I don't know if you are who you say you are. What happens when you mix vinegar and baking soda?

YOU: ...Kaboom?

CHERRY: Good!

Jersey: Hey, Durga, these are some good cookies.
Durga: Indeed, they are. I cross-indexed humans' taste for cookies with their taste for Elvis Presley and then corroborated that evidence with the shrapnel in John Kerry's left knee and then multiplied it by 7, ate the results, and baked cookies. Would you like another?
Jersey: Sure, if we weren't BEING ATTACKED BY KILLER SLIME BUGS FROM SPACE!! AAAAAAHHH!!!
Mas7er Chef: D00D! 1'LL T4KE 0UT THE K1LLER SL1ME BUGS W1TH MY--
floopspeospspoflospcsffsslcpspoefsspeeoooo

CHERRY: End of segment. Abort, Retry, Fail?

And only THEN will you get a cookie. I'll start at the 11:23 axon on Woodstock and 46th and go to as many as I can from there. See ya!
(Be sure to load the text document to see the Oregon axons; I used a lot of tabs, so when I paste it into the forum it looks all funky.)

Me, much too late at night, wrote:
not_for_me (0/5) 7:39 45.525381 -122.698374 Portland
NW 23rd and Flanders. It's the only payphone on that corner. You can't miss it.

cochlear_turning (0/3) 10:07 45.526083 -122.698358 Portland
23rd and Glisan. The payphone nearest the SE corner, where the Plaid Pantry is.
(There are five payphones here; it's the one nearest the corner.)

not_anymore (0/4) 11:23 45.479135 -122.615395 Portland
SE 46th and Woodstock. The blue payphone in front of the comic shop.

card_counters (0/5) 12:07 45.479183 -122.63039 Portland
Reed College. It's the phone just inside the side entrance to the Psychology building.
Look for my note amongst the neighboring phone's graffiti to confirm the location.

just_a_joke (0/7) 13:01 44.959266 -124.012375 3 km S of Lincoln City
Near Lincoln City, on the corner of SE Jeffy Ave. and SE East Devils Lake Rd.
Anyone visiting this axon, please note that your city planners were obviously the Family Circus.

the_glassworks (0/5) 13:47 45.453202 -122.579611 Portland
SE 82nd and Lamphier. (Dammit, I've been here twice before and I forget where it is. Help?)

funniest_fieldtrips (0/7) 14:21 45.455094 -122.578925 Battin
SE 82nd and Clackamas. At a Burger King.

stretch_em (0/5) 16:37 45.521472 -122.677583 Portland

In Eugene, at the north end of the Valley River Center, along Valley River Dr.

can_opener (0/7) 17:03 45.527166 -122.681166 Portland
NW 10th and Hoyt. In the parking lot of an office building. Glaringly obvious.

can_opener (0/7) 17:07 45.476518 -122.787272 Portland
SW 107th and Allen. Inside the Green-something Inn lobby.

can_opener (0/7) 17:29 45.448045 -122.579099 Harmony Point
SE 82nd Avenue, between Orchard and King.

can_opener (0/7) 17:35 45.520416 -122.675361 Portland
SW 4th and Stark.

can_opener (0/7) 17:39 44.070546 -123.106326 Eugene
In Eugene, also at the Valley River Center. Same as our second stretch_em axon at 16:57.
(Be warned; the same coordinates on the same list have been known to use different payphones.
The same coordinates on different lists tend to indicate the same payphone, though.)

can_opener (0/7) 17:45 44.070546 -123.106326 Eugene
In Eugene. Same as before. This is the third Valley River Center axon.

double_down (0/7) 18:03 44.070546 -123.106326 Eugene
In Eugene. Same as before. Stop the Valley River Center madness! Stop it!

bang (0/8 ) 18:33 45.529626 -122.698544 Portland
NW 23rd and Lovejoy. One of two payphones joined together at the NW corner, in holy matrimony.

SE 82nd and Lamphier is right in front of a McDonnalds. The axon is next to the drive-through. The McDonnalds is next to a titty bar.

Allen is at the Greenwood Inn. The staff is used to weirdos walking in and waiting for a phone call by now, so you don't have to worry about that.

Change of plans! Since my sleep schedule has gone terribly wonky since that party I had the other day (ooogh), I am going to get the 7:39 axon after all. BUT! Take Notice! I will miss the 10:25 axon at 23rd and Glisan. This is so that I can get back home in time to catch the 11:23 axon at the comic shop on Woodstock. While I am at home, I will check up on pertinent happenings such as what happened at 777 axons and what the new question/answer is (please God, let me get it right at the 7:39 axon). I will then catch the 11:23 axon and relay the information to anybody I meet there or at following axons.

So, if anybody could get the 10:25 one, that would be great! I can catch the ones in my area. Axon Hunters Assemble!

(aaand, this is my one hundredth post! Yay!)

Edited to include:

Question: What's my favorite game?
Answer: Hide and seek

...according to Cortana and MikeWas. Thanks!

Aggh! Archon and I got a live call from Melissa, but we were nervous and it was a bust. Shoot! It was fun, though. Story to come later.

Good job on the axons, team. Fun meeting the other regulars. I'll see about Allen tomorrow, however most if not all of the gas has left my vehicle and is helping to pollute the environment even as we speak.

Well I hit the 7:39 not_for_me this morning and even though it got opened and the group canceled before my time came up, I still got the call and successfully enhotenated it. That group got 4 extra successes today. Wink

Well, it's pretty clear: we're no longer after max numbers of axons, just whatever it takes to get the wavs

of course, that just means we're gonna have to grab as many as we can on the first day each time Cool
