Think of an in-game way of telling Melissa her axons are failing.

It is possible. I had a "cold" axon in round one that was cold due to the incorrect phone number being listed on the payphone-directory site. Which, in-game, would be where Melissa is getting some of the phone #s to dial. So, I submitted a change of phone# form to the site, it got updated, and that same axon worked perfectly in round 2.

I also posted the new vs. old #s here on the forum, so that "in-game" if Melissa was watching us here, she could see the mistake and change it.

So ... be proactive in helping solve your cold axons, it can pay off.

Non working Axon for 43.075049 -89.398353 location in Madison.
This non-working location has listed for several rounds.
The latest is for FABLE, 7:43 Very_Lucky.

After numerous days of staking out each the phones near the area, none of them have rung at the appointed time.

http://payphone-directory.org lists several phone numbers at 728 State Street, UW Central Library. Using Geocode.com Test Drive Page, the street address, 728 State Street, matches EXACTLY with the coordinates given on ilovebees. But none of the phones numbers on the list match with any of the actual phones in the building or in the area. (?)

The only two phones that are in a public area of the library are next to each other on the main floor in the West Hallway.
The numbers for these phones are
608-251-9829 for the one on the left and
608-251-9988 for the one on the right.

There are three other phones in elevator waiting areas on several floors inside the library, but that area of the library is restricted. You have to get permission/pass to gain access, unless you are student/faculty. I've have gotten a pass for several days and checked out these phones and still have not heard a single ring at any of them.

I have tried to call the four phone numbers listed on http://payphone-directory.org for 728 State St. The last number is disconnected (251-9975). The other three ring, but no one has picked up when I call. If someone would pick up, I'd ask them to identify where the heck I'm calling! (The three numbers incorrectly listed for 728 State St on http://payphone-directory.org have been removed. I have advised them of the correct address.)

Anyway… I am following weephun's lead and will report the phone number corrections to http://payphone-directory.org and see if it helps for the next round of Axons.

****EDIT****
I found these phones!!!! They are nowhere near the original coordinates. I'll explain why once I confirm my theory. I need help from at least 1 other Madison person tomorrow so that we can cover the three phones. They do not ring when called from the outside.
PM me.

FINALLY GOT IT !!!
My theory was correct, and we got the 1st Madison axon to connect. A big "Thanks!" to Rob for helping me cover all three phones.

The phone we needed was actually in the UW COLLEGE LIBRARY, not the UW CENTRAL LIBRARY.

Whoever originally gave payphone-directory.org the info, supplied the wrong name/address of the library. Therefore, the GPS coordinates of the phone were incorrectly linked to the Central Library at 728 State St, instead of the College Library at 600 N Park St. (The two libraries are about a three blocks from each other.)

I gave payphone-directory.org the correct numbers and addresses for phones at both libraries and they have been updated on the site.

It will be interesting to see what happens in the next round.

I see three options:
1) The phone called stays the same and the GPS coordinates remain the same.
2) The phone called stays the same and the GPS coordinates change to reflect the correct coordinates of the phone.
3) The phone called changes, and the GPS remain the same.

We shall see…..

Eric

sad, me.

Ok, I guess I won't bother with the Campus Cleaners one tomorrow.

Does the little Liquor store across from the old Sunoco have a payphone by any chance? What about that office thing on the same side as the Sunoco?

BTW, I took out a GPS today and confirmed the location. Maps AND GPS both indicate the axon is dead on top of the defunct Sunoco.

Unless Melissa re-routes the axon, we aren't going to get Standish.
